Somewhat Damaged

You know what, I've come too fucking far to not participate in the last round and have a sligh chance to let Somewhat Damaged win... That song does not deserve ultimate Reznor. It's a decent song, but it's no way better than alot of the songs on this list.

As stated before, something went horribly, horribly wrong with these elections somewhere, and nobody is quite sure what. I think it may have been the fact that we only had 12-14 people voting on any given day. That's not enough of a good consensus to properly do something like this, we should have a couple hundred people participating to at least show results. Hell, even just 100 people, then by using the good old percentage scale, we could get a better idea out of 100.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling, these elections were fun, and they were meant to not be taken too seriously. It was another thing I did when I woke up in the morning, check the elections page. I've been running out of things to do on the internet latley, so this was a nice surprise to shake things up again. I had fun, I thank you people for informing me about these elections, as I never post on this forum otherwise. It was nice hanging with you folks for about 2 months and chatting about our fav songs.

I wouldn't mind seeing everyone's top 10 songs from THIS election they were rooting for after tomorrow.

I told myself I was gonna quit after AATCHB was kicked off, and to be honest, i am surprised it made it as far as it did. I did well trying to save that song, and for a non-album b-side to make it to #3 on an ultimate reznor list is really surprising. It speaks worlds of truth about the song.

Ok, enough chit chat, i'm gonna cast my last vote (until he puts out a new album, hehe)

I am voting against Somewhat Damaged

I musta hear Reptile at every of the 9 shows I have seen, but the song never gets old. The crunching industrial factory sound live is just spine tingling.

The very last round... I think I wouldn't have chosen the last two songs as ultimate Reznor BUT you never know, cause it's very difficult for me to favour any NIN song as it depends on my mood and I simply like/love a whole bunch of the NIN catalogue.

As for Somewhat Damaged and Reptile, that's tricky, as I love both songs and they are widely different; but both represent a side of Nine Inch Nails.

I think it's a better song structurally but I respond to Reptile a bit more, especially live. The memorable lyrics, the sound fits the subject matter, my all-too-clear memory of seeing it live with the green lights and smoke...I think it's more Ultimo-Rez for me.

I would like to thank everyone for the last 2 years who has been involved in making these elections what they were. Thank you to the moderators for letting this craziness continue for such a long time on this site. No thank to Trent for never showing up to vote one round Thank you to Trent for giving us so much amazing music to have a reason to be on this site and to get so heated and involved in our opinions of all of this music. Whether we have 5 people or 5 hanging around here, we did it b/c we loved the music and that is pretty awesome.

Whenever we get more new music, that HTDA album that we know is already mixed or that oft-mentioned 2012 NIN, I will fire up an election a few weeks after it comes out. Until then, it's been a lot of fun and I just want to thank everyone for joining me in continuing what became a fun tradition on these boards.

Disappointing result, but hey, it's only a bit of fun.

Thanks to SS for your perseverance with this, been a good distraction, even though I only joined in 5-6 months ago. Now we just need that new music to get it all going gain...!

when these elections started we had no idea where they were going to go. hell, we didn't even know if anyone would vote or if the mods would lock it. its pretty cool to still be here 2 years later, and i think we are a pretty amazing although small group. in two years of begging and pleading and spitting and mashing teeth we never crossed the line or got dirty or had to go to the shitlist. considering how riled up we became at times that is really an accomplishment! I personally want to thank ssquirrel and churchy and votive for not giving up on me and forcing me to return for this last election. its been a bittersweet time for me, but i AM glad that i saw it through to the end.
