and just in time for my favorite holiday, Halloween! For those of you "out-of-towners" attending Voodoo in New Orleans who may not know about this, be SURE to visit the world's least politically correct (and fucking scary!) haunted house - THE HOUSE OF SHOCK! Trust me on this, look it up and just go - it kicks ass.[www.houseofshock.com]

this is very scary. in berlin we have the more safe halloween parties, where 7 year old kids walk around with plastic dracula teeth and a black cape.
thats all, since it is not so very popular here... sad smiley
wish i was in the states, man! i could collect sweets for a year.

Thanx for the tip. We were looking for something cool like that. We're flying all the way in from the west coast. I warn you, if it scares me into a state of catatonic shock and I miss the concert you have to visit me in the asylum.

10/23/08 10:43 AM

Aww, Trent's in the Halloween spirit. That's awesome. I wish I could go to see that, but I'll probably see you actually on Halloween. :-)

10/23/08 9:52 AM

k, I'll remember to go there if I'm ever in the neighbourhood. :9 *breaks down*

Everyone celebrates Halloween on the wrong fucking day here. Or the trend died out, I'm not sure.

*sets font colour to orange on black background in Word* ALL SET!!!!!!!!

Wow, those pictures remind me of my grandpas basement when I was a kid......

10/23/08 10:00 AM

I heard about that place. From what I heard, whoever built it did a pretty good job.

My best friend, her hubby and I got together to watch a ghost story on the travel channel last Friday and they had a HUGE thing about THE HOUSE OF SHOCK, and sorry, I know this is incredibly dorky, but part of me wondered if you guys had ever been there; when I heard it was in New Orleans! (note to self: must get there and Oak Alley some day) It's supposed to be the most gruesome and realistic one in the U.S. and people have tried to shut it down several times! (clapping hooves together) Love it, Hee Hee, VERY COOL!

I found the link on you tube for the show~Enjoy!grinning smiley

Actually a lot of adults are into spookey day. I think it's cool that Trent enjoy's it.
I've never been really into it, but I love to see how cute little kids look all dressed up. I mean I could not go out for Trick or Treat when I was very little, but hey it's cool I think. I mean during xmas I get all excited, ha ha.

Cool photo - Gunther von Hagens should do an exhibition there.

Unfortunately for me, not this year (re: House of Shock)

WE CAN'T WAIT TO ROCK WITH YOU GUYS IN NASHVILLE ON YOUR FAVORITE HOLIDAY !!!

10/23/08 11:21 AM

Count me out. I'm a big chicken shit. Oh, I would also skip the freak show. I hate those people that stick spikes through their skin and then hang from 'em! Gross!

The place does look cool, but I much rather visit it during the day time.
(I told you I was a chicken shit)

Welcome back to the US, guys.

And you've given me another thing put on ye olde "list of places to travel to before the bucket is kicked." I love Hallowe'en, and spending it in New Orleans would be an amazing experience. ^_^ Somehow, I don't think that Hallowe'en in LA would be quite as interesting...

As for me, I'll be curled up with my laptop and some horror movies. Ahhh, the solitary student life.

10/23/08 10:25 AM

Thanks. We will be in New Orleans all Halloween week (just missing the Voodoo Fest--bad planning). Will check it out.

If you're coming up here for that, be sure to check out Barrett's Haunted Mansion in Abington. On nights when they have enough volunteers, they start haunting you the moment you park your car.

(They have a regular cast, but, each night also donates some of the ticket sales to a different local charity, who provide enough volunteers to technically cover the house. However, the regulars obviously Really Like Their Job, and show up every night, and... don't try to outrun someone who can sprint on stilts, k?)

By the way, I find the scariest haunted houses are the ones where there are barely any lights at all. Pitch black. I was absolutely TERRIFIED in the one where the walls were fuzzy then sticky then nail heads poking out. The roof started curving inwards and down. I screamed when my coat got snagged by the hands coming out of the walls and then we were chased by a guy in a lab coat thru a hallway of hanging body bags (!!!)

Almost fell out of that one headfirst!

-g- : *points to self* yup i'm a fucking pussy smiling smiley

You would've hated when Jim Rose Circus opened for NIN.

The one Halloween that found me in New Orleans included going to the Anne Rice Gala thing (first year at the Orphanage, maybe?), and then the Genitorturers... uh, you wouldn't like them either...

That looks too cool. Wish I could be there to enjoy it.

10/23/08 10:50 AM

So cool!! I Wish I could explore that house.

I guess Trent would hate Japan because there is pretty much no Halloweenish thing going on here...
