Great article! Gives us a look into the technology behind the live show, awesome.

I didn't know the band used Moment Factory, who have worked with Cirque du Soleil.... I've seen a few Cirque shows in my life, and have always admired the beautiful visuals and backgrounds in their shows. Very interesting.

I know its been mentioned, but they HAVE to make a dvd of this show.

Don't worry...I'll still come see you if all you'll have is white lights at a club. You can always crash on my couch when you come through town. My dogs will keep you warm. smiling smiley

So no secret text at Red Rocks, just a "stupid fucking Hippotizer", being that it's NIN we wouldn't expect something such as a simple miscue. There just has to be a hidden message behind it all.

It's really fascinating to read what really goes on behind the scenes. I can't believe that some people think it all staged. Where have they been, Locked away in some basement? You guys have been talking about this for months!

Thanks for sharing your secrets and going through what you do to put this on!

octavia9, there is an edit function to change your posts. There isn't really a reason to post 3 times in a row. Just an FYI.

Sitting down here in Australia, I think I just made love to my laptop screen, that wired article and the 12 minute video are amazing!

I'm about ready to book a flight to Vegas to see the last show of the tour, absolutely amazing!

My arm is poking out from the left on the second pic from the bottom on the wired article. Awesome!

What?! McCain is not at all Liberal. He sold that off along with his soul when he decided to run for president. Now enter Palin -- what a joke. I mean that. I follow politics very closely and the fact that people are buying into her is just ridiculous. It actually makes me sick. Another 4 years of this shit -- I will worry, you should worry and Trent is right to be worried. Wake the hell up America. Just wake up and use your minds and think. It's a lost art these days.

You know whats funny, that is exactly what I want say to you and like minded people. So angry. If you ever calm down and open your OWN mind, you realize that a lot of people in this country share the same value system as Mcain and Palin, maybe not your own, but to put in context (and to be polite), your "proggressive" thinking is not a universal thought with many Americans, and to get upset because the country has not abandoned its traditional values overnight is a little, hmmm...zealous?

This show sounds amazing! I am wondering if this show might be better seen from a distance so the eyes can take it all in? I was planning on buying pre-sale tickets to get as close to the stage as possible, but now I'm wondering if I might miss something if I'm too close? I'd love some feedback from anyone who has seen this show already.

Funny. I seem to recall Trent calling them for advice, not the other way around.

I loved the article, it's kinda funny to think that all those cool effects are ultimately just laser pointers and LED lights....you don't think about that when you're watching Trent lean in and out and the thing react to him like that. It's really wild.

Funny thing is though, if Trent is just onstage with white lights and small clubs, I'll still go...they started out with very little, back to basics isn't always a bad thing

I understand that many in this country do not share my views and values. I don't live in a vacuum. I am concerned for the direction that our country is going in and feel that if these two get in that it's just going to get worse. I am very open minded and I do have a great amount of passion on these issues. I see this country that I love and many of the things that make America unique fading away. What is more important than that? I am angry and I will continue to be angry until I see this country moving in a direction that I can respect. If you feel that I am some kind of crazy zealot then fine. I have no intention of calming down on this matter.

Ok. Everyone is bashing me for not having my own opinion, but I am 15. I have an opinion, Obama, I pay active attention and read all the magazines newspapers from other countries to get different opinions. My only thing was i just wanted to see what other people think. As a tried and true supporter of Trent, I am just curious as o what his position is and those of the rest of the band. I mean, i love these musicians, but it is one thing to know their music and another to know their political opinions. It seems if i knew there political opinions and other, but not all, parts of their life, you feel more connected to them and it seems like a more mutual and personal relationship and not just musical. Thats all.

First, I don't think your crazy, and it's totally cool to speak your mind. Second, only history will tell if we are doing things for better or worse. Abraham Lincoln, in his time was viewed and bashed far worse then GW Bush. What they both had in common was a stubborn sense to see things through to the end. And in the end, that's what mattered most.

I'm curious what exactly are you upset about? Especially in regard to "the direction of the country"? Are you an anarchist, socialist. Just trying to understand.

I always knew when I started listening to Nails from the beginning I found genius. Trent is Way ahead of time. The music itself has always been revolutionary. Like said before even a minimal show with nothing but white lights would still amaze. The fact that Reznor puts all of this time and effort to make music not only a pleasure to jam to but also a visual expierence once again shows a true artist's passion. All of these reasons combined is why NIN has tested all time and will live on for many generations to come.

in re: US citizens: Nobody wants anyone preaching their opinions at them - particularly a musician - but PLEASE get involved and pay attention to what’s happening during this election and try to see through the clutter to the substance of what is or isn’t being said.
Wouldn’t it be great to feel proud of this country for a change? Seems like it’s within reach.

Well, I try to keep up on the political news, but it doesn't seem to change my mind much. I keep voting but I seem to be in the minority. Discouraging.
