Hey guys,

first of all, I'm a person who is very fast scared and disgusted. Also I dont like to watch horror movies. So you can imagine what I thought when I read in Wikipedia about the Broken Movie. I can't believe why someone wants to do such a disgusting movie or even watch it?! I really enjoyed listening to NIN so far, but this makes it kind of hard since I'm starting to think Trent is insane...

So why am I writing it? Just because I want you to tell me that it wasn't Trent who had the idea for this, or that he complety changed!

welcome to the world of art...

it was meant to gross you out and fuck you up.lots of people like it but seeing it once was enough for me.i've never squirmed and covered my eyes so much... while still peeking through my fingers.

I have to admit freind i was quite disturbed when i watched that video but i think its also artistic in a way i cant explain. It also touches certain nerves that leaves you blank and shocked...The brutality of the video left me expression-less, but there is a certain ammount of logic in Broken its not just a pointless video with barberic violence either..

I would deffinantly not reccomend it to the faint harted however.

There's far worse out there...Option 30, Exotic Birds...

You'll shit your pants.

good point^.

But nonetheless The Broken film disturbed me. I was 17 when i first watched it, But what doesnt kill you makes you stronger.

09/04/08 8:42 AM

I watched it when I was 15, and it didn't disturb me at all! I liked it. Maybe I have a slightly twisted mind. eye rolling smiley

It's sad when you watch it for the first time and are already desensitized enough to not find it bad at all :/

09/04/08 11:08 AM

it's very impressive how realistic it is

haha yeah i thought it was pretty light to be honest?

I definitely have to agree, a friend of mine showed me the Broken video a few years ago which was pretty much the first time I started to listen to NIN. The video is definitely messed up, I swear I heard my mind snap. The music is awesome though

Haha, that's funny.

I've heard of it, but I can't stomach stuff like that. I can't even watch that PETA video, so I'm not going to attempt this.

I saw it one year ago, when I was 12. Didn't disturb me at all ^_^ But I don't think I will ever ever ever watch it again. Gave Up is probarly the worst of all...

fuck art, it's just gratuitous. Made for shock 100%.

You don't need to love everything a band does.

Personally I think The Broken Film was awesome. Here we are 16 years after the release of that tape still discussing it. I think it did it's job extremely well.

09/04/08 11:44 AM

I was 12 when I saw it as well, and I loved it. It didn't disgust or frighten me in the slightest and I've watched it probably five times as well. When he takes out the heart and eats it I was like "AWESOME!", does that make me wrong in any way?

09/04/08 12:12 PM

I love the Broken Movie. I saw it about a year ago. I wasn't grossed out at all.

But then again I am completely desensitized to like, everything. XD

09/04/08 12:27 PM

^^Yeah.

I FUCKING LOVE IT.

I'm also pretty impressed at how realistic it is. If you haven't seen it, and you're squeamish, DON'T; PERIOD. It is hella-graffic x 1,000,000. But for the rest of us sick-and-twisted folk, it's made entirely of awesome.

I still haven't seen it in hi-res.
I must have watched it about 6-7 years ago, and the quality was pretty bad.

Better crack out the popcorn...

I haven't watched the Broken Movie in an age. Even though I did find it a bit disturbing, I still liked it. I think that it was meant to be disturbing. After watching it for the first time. I just sat there for a while trying to wrap my brain around what I had just saw...I like things that make me think.

I thought it was good.
I don't understand why you would be so upset by it, it's not real and no one is forcing you to watch it.

09/04/08 4:34 PM

I still haven't watched it, although it's stuck there... in My Documents... I really should get Nero or something. I would like to put it on a DVD and watch it on the TV.

09/04/08 3:38 PM

is there a good recording of it anywhere?

because I think its just as sick as hostel, which is in my opinion very sick! And I don't really want to hear something from someone who is that insane... Well maybe we're all a lil insane^^
Sorry guys I still don't get it but I guess I'll stick to NIN.

Thanks anyway for your comments

The fact that I have a DVD of it sitting on my shelf tucked in a sleeve with Closure haunts me sometimes, because I know I'm never gonna sit and watch it anytime soon.

Meh.

The way the media and what is taken as acceptable these days makes me think that had this been released today there would have been nothing more than a few raised eyebrows.

.... is it any more disturbing than Big Brother or anything on MTV1 these days?

well I haven't seen The Broken Movie and I don't watch Big Brother, but I guess it is more disturbing. Seeing some whores in the TV who would do everything for some cash is the one thing, but torture is the other thing.

But as I already mentioned, I didn't watch one of them so wait for a comment from a qualified person^^

09/04/08 5:35 PM

I've seen it (and big brother) but I'm far from qualified grinning smiley
