File this one under lost opportunities. I'm very proud of the show we've put together for this tour and have been working hard the last few months to find a way to capture it. I had an amazing situation lined up that would have allowed me to film the show in 3D with James Cameron's team for a theatrical release as well as DVD / BluRay, etc. We had an extra date added to the tour that we were going to give away all the tickets for and have a filming party / thank you show.I made two critical mistakes. One was to approach a certain record company that owns some of the song rights about producing / funding. The second was to allow said company to fuck around as usual for months before saying um... no. We then achieved the impossible by finding alternate production / funding but the timetable is too rushed to get it filmed comfortably with the remaining time left on the tour. This tour and a lot of the personnel involved finish at the end of this leg, so we can't push filming into Jan / Feb.Deep breath...This was an amazing tour and production - certainly the best thing I've ever been involved with and likely the final tour for NIN on this scale. Thank you to those that came out to see it and forgive me for having a Kanye West moment, but this was FOR SURE the best show of the year and any bullshit end-of-the-year poll you may read in the next few weeks that says otherwise simply has it wrong. Those of you who saw it know I'm right. The shows we have announced in 2009 and any more that may be announced will be a completely different approach with some different personnel and will likely be the last for the foreseeable future.

-crying uncontrollably-

The way he added the last shows for the forseeable future... it almost seems like this project falling through damaged his spirit. Trent, thank you for everything you've done and given us this tour, and I'm really sorry it didn't work out.

Yes, it was the best show around this year, and the best show I've ever personally seen. I'm looking forward to seeing you all in Idaho and Vegas!

Damn right this was the best fucking show this year (and has been for many years in my opinion!). So fucking awesome that I saw it three times! Every penny I paid to see each show was well spent.

I'm sorry to hear that things didn't go as planned, but thank you for trying. Thank you for giving me something to remember. My memories of going to these NIN shows are some of the best I have. It was a fucking blast!

Hopefully this isn't the last of NIN we'll have...but if it is <3

I am saddened but completely gratified at this moment. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for all of the hard work and making this so memorable. Please don't be so hard on yourself Trent, you always do amazing work.

12/03/08 6:38 PM

Heard that the shows were amazing. Wish we could have had you perform in NY on this scale but we're still fans and your music is amazing.

Thank you!

12/03/08 6:38 PM

Hell yes! Was the best show I've ever seen, and better than what any band is doing out today!

12/03/08 5:38 PM

I'm so glad I got the opportunity to see this show in Montreal.. the best one I've ever seen, and I've seen many other NIN shows.

Thank you Trent for all you do for us.

You're amazing.

No matter what happens, you'll never disappoint me. Record companies are there for that.

Trent, you gave us your beatiful and amazing music thats more then we could ask for.

so thanks you

12/03/08 5:40 PM

does mean there is going to be no dvd

12/03/08 5:40 PM

Probably my biggest concert regret is not being able to make to any of these shows

12/03/08 5:41 PM

You guys are getting so close to the end. Yall have worked so hard. I mean back to back to back to back to..... you know the point. Anyway, the Grand Rapids show was fantastic. Ive seen the Nails crew quite a few times in the 90's and it is really hard to compare to the feel at that time. Different time, different attitude. I then went to a show in Cleveland a few years back. Pretty good. But the show in Grand Rapids this year was one of the best production values for my money that I have ever seen. Thank you. So I say to you now.....take a deep breath. Only a few more shows to go and then time for tea.

Again, thank you.

At least u've tried :|.

Oh well, thanks anyway, best to the look on the bright side. Thanks for all the music over the years XOXO.

i went to two of these shows on this tour and they were the greatest concerts i have ever been to in my life. life changing experiences for me, i mean you have been playing for almost 20 years, you have never lost what makes you you, and you really seem to mean everything you sing. I bet you would stop playing if you stoped feeling the way you do. if i didn't know any better i would not be able you tell wich songs were your older songs at the concerts, you put out the same amount of energy for down in it as 1,000,000. Insperational.

12/03/08 5:42 PM

Fucking Record Labels...

And I'm jealous of you; CANADA! Lucky...
Well, all I can say is I'm excited for the future of NIN no matter how much money Trent puts into theatrical elements in his live shows; I'll be there.

12/03/08 5:42 PM

So sad to hear that this may be the end. I was finally able to make it to a show. All I can say is that it was the best one I've ever been to! Thank you so much for coming to MN! We keep hoping that another one will come our way! Always look on the bright side....your fans love you!

12/03/08 6:42 PM

This tour was great. I'm bummed there will be no dvd. Now I'm also confused and I being told there will be no more NIN touring after '09? and if that is true I hope to hell there will be more American dates posted

12/03/08 5:42 PM

Wow, that's sad and wonderful at the same time I think. The fact that Trent was so painfully honest is great, you don't really get that from many musicians nowadays, at least not with the same confidence and vigor as is in that message.

It is sad but all nice things must come to an end, but that's what memories and (hopefully eventual) DVDs are for! To think back on a time in our lives when fans felt an energy that could never be replaced.

Sadly I'm not much of a concert person so I've never seen him live; maybe some day in the future I'll break out of my shell and go to a concert and hopefully he'll still be in as fine a form as ever.

Either way, fans rejoice! Rejoice through pictures, stories, ticket stubs, and the like.

NIN/Trent Reznor fans are special in our own way: energetic and passionate commitment to great music and production and living life in general; let us never forget that.

Take care all

12/03/08 5:43 PM

I am thankful for being able to see the show 3x! It was amazing and by far the best concerts I have witnessed in my life!

This is also funny bc I had thought that you should release a live dvd for this tour and even in 3D! What are the odds of that. I'm good at predicting things obviously or just good ideas. LOL!

I hate that this will be the last NIN tour!! sad smileyI really hope to see more shows in the future bc 3x just isn't enough for me.

Anyway. Thanks for the update and thanks for putting on such amazing concerts. Good luck with the rest of the tour!!!

12/03/08 5:44 PM

aww that sucks about the dvd. i would have loved to have the opportunity to see a show from this tour because i couldn't make it to any of them.

hopefully i will finally get to see you all live in 2009! thank you for being such an amazing band. <3

12/03/08 5:44 PM

I am terribly sad now. It must've been very hard for you.

I will do everything humanly possible to see you guys at least 2x when you come over to Europe.

12/03/08 5:45 PM

Aw, now I am sad. Thanks for trying Trent.

12/03/08 5:45 PM

I am so glad I made it our twice for this tour. It really has been EPIC and the best show I have seen. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR TIME AND ENERGY!!!!!! What you have done in the past few years has meant ALOT to me as an artist. This has been a monumental last few years and this tour has had the best lineup and the addition of Ghost takes it over the edge.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

can't seem to shut it off
This thing I've begun
And it's hard to tell
Just where it's coming from
And it's hard to see
What I'm capable of
And it's hard to believe
Just, what I've become

Hey
Can we stop?
Me, I'm not

12/03/08 5:45 PM

i can honestly say that i feel blessed to have witnessed this tour.you guys took the experience to an unbelievable level.i still go over it again and again in my mind.the music and your stage presence is plenty on its own but the overwhelming feast for the eyes was truly spectacular.

i'm fighting back tears reading that it may be the last for the forseeable future.i can't imagine a world without some live NIN. sad smiley
