Oh God Trent please tell me that you wont stop making music!!!! Your music has changed my life over the past three years, and I thank you for that. Ive gotten the privledge to see NIN 5 times in concert. Ive seen this tour twice and it was the best performance you have put out so far. winking smiley We all agree with you this the best fucking tour of the year!!! If you come back to touring within the next few years after taking a break, that will be a 100 times better than a dvd!!!
As always you put on an amazing show thats all that really matters. You never
disappoint!!!! I hope you come back to the states one last time if this is the last time. For this decade maybe??smiling smiley I cant get enough of your music or your live shows.

Please come to the UK. Please?

And can someone explain this Kanye West thing? Im so confused.

Kayne West now thinks he is the modern day equivalent of the Beatles, and his ego is huge. He thinks he is the best musician out there, but sadly he can not back it up. He publicly bitches when he doesn't win awards, and to me is just a complete jackass.

Nine Inch Nails is too important of a figure to be cast down like this and I know Trent's energy will always be there to be a voice of freedom. There are always set backs for the future but NIN will be alive and doing well to see the fall of record companies.

The Is Not The Beginning of The End!

Don't worry, we'll always have... a lot of things.

The past two years have brought forth a new horizon, such a passion for new innovation that furthered creative boundaries, and I'm sure, though we've reached an uncertain moment, that there is still much, much ahead, so much more potential than we could have ever imagined a few short years ago, yet to be fulfilled.

12/03/08 7:39 PM

Wow... I didn't expect this, at all.

So, Rob hasn't been filming this tour? The NIN camp doesn't have nice HD cameras? Yeah, right. They record everything, and from the two people that made AATCHB they could easily make the next masterpiece live dvd with their resources. To hell with the 3D idea, to not release a document of this tour is a crime to all the non-fans whose minds will be blown when seeing what the rest of us experienced this tour. Piece together something raw and beautiful, please.

Trent-

In addition to the best live show ever conceived, NIN fans got a FREE fucking album this year.

The fact that you might even CONSIDER putting on an event like that is, like, almost too much to comprehend... Honestly! I mean, did I (or any other person who considers him or herself to be a NIN fan) do something spectacular somewhere along the way which would merit such amazing treatment?!

And then to think that your efforts were thwarted by label execs who failed to see enough dollar signs; I honestly think that it is US who should be at their fucking doorstep.

It is clear that you would play live for every single fan if it were possible, and obviously you've actually tried over the past year - take a look at the list of places that this tour visited... I've maybe heard of 5 of them before.

This post was definitely unexpected and upsetting; I sincerely hope that I'm reading correctly when I take it to mean that this will only be the final NIN show "on this scale"... But please, don't try to fault yourself on any level!!

Of course infinite thanks to you for ALL of your work, and to everyone involved with the show! And to quote one of my favorite novels: Nolite te bastardes carborundorum!

(And I also agree with the bootlegging idea, in order that video can end up free online.)

Trent said to me and about 3000 other people (to whom I've forgotten the names of) that he would tour until we got bored with him and them, so (hopefully) he'll stick to his word and not let us down.

Come back to Blighty Boys and I'll cook ya a Bacon sandwich!

The NIN show in Minneapolis was technically perfect and fabulous and fun.

Sorry about all the frustration with song rights and video production. As difficult as this is, Trent, you are cutting edge on reconfiguring the use of copyrighted material. It's part of what inspired me to start listening to NIN a year ago. (That, and I had a little help from the Richard Cheese version of "Closer." Oh, the strange and circuitous paths we take to find music to love.)

One of the forum posters suggested that the fans take on documenting the tour through video, but NIN is well on its way to documenting it through the Flickr/NIN Forum app to collect concert photos. Perhaps something formal could be done with that resource.

Looking forward to NIN's continued creativity.

This is heartbreaking, I really beat myself up about not making it to that jacksonville show, and now even more-so. I could only imagine how amazing the collaboration between James Cameron and NIN would be, absolutely mind blowing I would imagine. I hope you don't get down and out though because despite all of this I really cant say enough about NIN the mastermind behind it all and the people that all make it come together. Maybe just maybe I will get the chance to see the band sometime in the future, I can only hope smiling smiley

No DVD..... Trent, this would be an absolute sin if this concert experience isn't captured for us die hard fans to cherish forever... There has to be a way... Please say this isn't so.... I'm going to cry in all seriousness :-(

I'm sad too, but I can't help but see Trents side in this. Touring and all the interviews and all of that other shit gets old. he has had a long and successful career...I think he would be exiting the spotlight with dignity this way. He's not being too hard of himself. I personally think he's just really tired. I can't imagine being constantly on the road for two straight decades, having to answer to so many other people and making so many other people happy. Man, I totally see his side in this and if he knows this is his limit than right on. I'm a little devastated by the DVD deal...that's just really fucked up.

That's what I'm getting at. Even if they haven't recorded any audio or video in the past 2 1/2 legs (doubtful, given that this is the craziest visual show anyone working for NIN as well as Trent has ever seen, and Trent probably always records audio), I still don't understand how there there wouldn't be sufficient time to whip something together. Anything over nothing. Prop some cameras around the venues, get some dudes in the trenches with some, etc. Just like what was done for AATCHB. There are 6 big shows remaining.

Hey..who is a complete "jackass"? Trent?
Anyways...I just want to add up to this: I was lucky enough to see NIN three times! Seattle, Monterrey and next week Portland, Oregon. I know...I am a lucky bastard, I agree. However, I must say that I have never seen such an amazing show before and will never be one like it again. I just went to a Metallica show (last monday) but ah..his show suck compared to Trent's!

Trent you are amazing!

12/03/08 7:48 PM

Trent,
I would like to personally thank you for giving me the amazing experience that was LITS at Tulsa on 11.22.08

I have to say that it was my 1st NIN concert after following you guys for so long. That concert is very near and dear to me because it was the first really good bonding experience my [step]father and I have ever had. I never met my real "dad" and my father and i never really connect on much. We were so distant that I hardly even told him I loved him and vice versa. But he got me into NIN. And i've been listening since the Fragile era. My dad has followed you since the days that "Down In It" was being investigated by police.

So, for a birthday present I decided it would be fun to take him to see the show in Tulsa. Well, at first, he didn't want to go and I accepted that and walked on. Or so HE thought. For some odd reason, it really struck a chord with me and I went home and cried about it for a while. He eventually called me and said he would go and I was ecstatic.

Well, we got to the concert and I thought it was gonna be an awkward experience since we never really got too close. I paid over $100 on merch for me, him and a close friend of mine. I handed him what I bought him and he seemed pleasantly surprised. Well, we got to our seats and you guys took the stage and I went nuts and noticed he wasn't gettin into it... Until March Of The Pigs. He and I were thrashing about, singing the songs at the top of our lungs etc.

After it was all said and done we reflected on the amazing show all the way home (which is about a 2 hour drive mind you). Well, over the next few days, I grew to feel a great connection with dad and apparently he felt the same. So I asked him if it was the best concert he ever went to cause it was for me. He of course said that it was. ot only because of all the effects, but also because he had his son with him. I was so happy to hear this, I literally cried on the spot and told him I loved him.

He invited me to go eating, shooting, fishing, play pool, etc the following week. And that is very rare of him. But I noticed, any time we went somewhere public, he would wear his NIN that I bought him. He even wears it to bed almost every night now. But the best thing about it all is that the concert made me connect with him and grow up when it comes to him. So, I got the idea to make him a DVD of the concert. It took me 6 hours a day for a week to do it, but I finally got it done with the co-operation of fellow NIN fans that went to the show.

Just no that no matter what you do, my father and I will be behind you 100% for all you've done for both of us! THANK YOU AND WE LOVE YOU!

"Curtain Call" sounds pretty final to me.

And thanks to NIN for an awesome tour. This was my first NIN concert and if it was my last, then I'm entirely happy as well.

Thank you for one of the best concerts of my life with my husband in G-boro, NC

I just want Trent to be happy and succeed in whatever he does and WANTS to do. I'll always be a fan. His music has given me much over the years and the only thing I can ask is for him to continue to do what he wants.

In recent years, I know some fans have wondered about the direction of the band. I personally have liked it. NIN has gone through amazing changes and forged in new directions, both musically and visually. Its a neat thing to see a musician grow, mature, change, and reach into new areas as artist. I have enjoyed this evolution with NIN. I've seen many bands come and go, but NIN has always been unique, to me anyway. Underlying those changes, I think there has always been that core...Trent, his art, and his piano...and those are, for me, some of my fav compositions on NIN albums....A Warm Place, Something I Can Never Have, The Four of Us Are Dying, Hurt, etc.

I can only wish Trent the best in what he does.
