Being extremely selfish here - I am so glad I got to see you in Minneapolis. It was probably the most amazing experience of my life, and I'll never forget it. It's a shame I might never see you again sad smiley

And I like the idea that others have been posting - we'll all chip in and pay for the dvd production. I bet someone will even start a petition to let you use the songs that are rightfully yours. If not, remember - you released THREE albums since With Teeth, all of which are all of ours. A concert of even just those songs would still be amazing.

I'm all choked up with nostalgia after reading this. ;_;

There's so many things I want to say and I don't know where to start. I guess all I can come up with right now is a huge thank you. To Trent, Robin, Justin, Josh and everyone involved on the Lights In The Sky tour for making it happen and for making of it such an unbelievable experience. I'm happy and proud to have been a part of it, to have been there even for one night, singing and screaming and living the hell out of that moment. I will never forget it -- it was my first NIN show ever, and I just hope it's not the last.

I am particularly thankful because you brought the tour down to South America. For most of us it was our first NIN show, and believe me, having this one as your first NIN experience spoils you for every single show you see afterwards, that's for certain. So, Trent, that wasn't the best show of the year. It was the best show EVER, hands down. So you are allowed your Kanye moment indeed. winking smiley

So yes, thank you a million times over. I hope everyone has a lovely and well-deserved rest after the tour.

I'll be here looking forward to the next chapter when it happens.

Take care, NIN.

Trent you tried your best and that is all that matters ...It will happen when you least expect it to and it will be the best ever ..

I have besides you in time concert footage cd halo22 awsome piece of workwinking smiley

thanks LC

I hope that this does not affect your work or your emotions Trent, since in the past you do past by worse things and this is only an obstacle more which we know that it is going away to solve,we know you solved that it.
Against anyone and everything, always with the forehead it arrives, with your excellent work, we are beside you.
Nothing can stop you now

Take care!
Always keep the smile in your face, you see very well when you smile n.n and.....

Trent - Maybe I am still in disbelief but let me get this clear, so what you saying is that all this shit you have been working so hard for is now totally fucked? This tour has been a real pleasure considering the condition of todays music world. I just want some further explanation in why everything has gone sour. please post some more info. thanks.

12/03/08 8:58 PM

OKC and Tulsa were two amazing nights of my life I will never forget. You guys, especially you, Trent, constantly bust your ass for us fans, and we appreciate every drop of sweat even if we don't realize how much went into it. You've all definately earned a nice long break from constant obligations. Everything has to come to an end, it's just the way things are.

No matter what the future of NIN is, you'll always have us behind you. I owe my life to this music. I'm not about to bow out just because things change.

12/03/08 8:59 PM

This is the beginning of the end...

is it?

12/03/08 9:00 PM

I know this doesn't get me a DVD, or extend the tour, but having ranted, i feel better.

Not for anyone easily offended.

Ah, a bit of relief!

I love you, NIN fans, i've read your posts and feel the same.

Best visuals and light show I have ever seen at any concert, ever! Best concert I have ever been to! Fuck yeah!

12/03/08 9:02 PM

i feel very fortunate to have caught your show twice during this tour. unquestionably the best show i have ever seen--on a par with the roger waters show i caught a few years back when he was doing DSOTM.

While there apparently will not be a tangible product from this tour, I will have my memories. And that is more than enough for me.

Trent--thanks for everything thus far; while this may be a departure point of sorts I look forward to whatever is next...

12/03/08 9:02 PM

I was lucky I saw you guys. I dont need a dvd either, I enjoy the updates, most of the fans got video anyways, and you know what I would'nt care what songs you play at a show or on dvd. All of your work is awesome and we would still purchase even if certain songs were'nt involved, or at least your real fans grinning smiley thank you so very much for everything, you'll always be my favorite

The day Trent adds lyrics to Leaving Hope and does an album with ABBA is the day it's fucking over. I don't read too much into his message, because I believe he's hurting because he failed to deliver something to fans that he truly did not want to fail at doing, and for that I understand the pain in his message. We'll all love him nonetheless. Thanks for the great shows in Toronto Trent, I will cherish them forever.

12/03/08 9:05 PM

Well, if you HAPPEN to make it to page 15 to read this *lol* Nah, that's just hubris. But I still want to say I'd been wondering what you would do next. What you've been doing has been evolving, anyone can see that, and I couldn't see you following the current path too much further. I can't wait to see what else you create! Enjoy your break from touring!

12/03/08 9:08 PM

i just wanted to say, to trent and co - thank you for all of your hard work - not only on this tour, but for all of the years in the past. im lucky enough to have seen the show in toronto this past august, and i still remember it like i was there yesterday. it was an amazing experience to be able to see the band perform live and see something so beautiful - remember that you're all incredibly amazing, intelligent and talented true artists - and no one (including dumb record companies, stupid online polls, etc) can take that away from you - and we'll be here to support you! <3

Unlike kanye, you deserve it.

I have to say thanks to Nine Inch Nails for all the hard work the last few years to give us all of this new music and touring in such a short time and everyone else involved with the Lights In The Sky tour. I am also very glad that I had the opportunity and traveled from Arizona to see the Red Rocks show because it was the experience of a lifetime. I'm planning on going to the Vegas show also so that being the last show on this stage for NIN makes it that much more special, not that it already wasn't special enough. I'm disappointed that things didn't work out for a dvd because it is a shame that there's not going to be an official documentation of such an amazing show. The things that concerns me is the future of NIN for "the foreseeable future." 2008 has been such a great year for NIN and I hope everything works out in the future.

12/03/08 9:11 PM

It truly is, and always will be, the best show that I ever got to see, and be apart of. Thank you Trent. I always believed in you.

12/03/08 9:13 PM

I would take a "rushed timetable" production DVD/Blu-Ray over nothing. Please give us something to remember this by besides poor quality youtube videos...

12/03/08 9:13 PM

I saw two shows from this tour and it was by far the best two shows I have ever seen I certainly hope this isn't the last for Trent it would be a detriment to the music industry. Don't lose hope Trent

12/03/08 9:13 PM

goddammit...this was the ONLY reason i bought a Blu-Ray player. i feel like crying now

12/03/08 9:13 PM

Trent i just want to thank you for the inspiration you have givin me, ur music has influenced my life in ways i never thought an artist could, n im sad to say i never got to see NIN live, but if you do come back to blow our fuckin minds be sure to stop in ATL!

12/03/08 10:14 PM

I will say this. I went to a lot of NIN concerts this year with my brother and they were all the best shows I have ever seen. I just went to a concert tonight and I was just thinking the whole time "this is not better than NIN". No concert will ever compare to the ones I have seen this summer/fall. Taping these shows and being able to share them to the masses of people who didn't make the shows does not do these shows justice. They were all epic in some way shape or form. and its nice to keep that in my mind for the rest of my life.

NIN will always be the best thing that has happened to me musically and has affected some part of my life here and there. It has definitely made me and my brother become better friends and have something to talk about all the time! So thanks to Trent, Robin, Ally, Freese and JMJ for putting on such an exciting and energetic show every night! I am trying to find a way to Vegas for the last show in the US!

12/03/08 9:15 PM

Okay, this is my second post about this. My sadness has turned to anger. Maybe it is because I am tired and maybe I will regret this post in the morning, but I feel like I am being punked. I keep thinking about it and it doesn't add up. This is what I am thinking

Ok, lets announce an album - Done
Ok, lets announce a tour - Done
Ok, lets get some kick ass visual effects - Done
Ok, lets get a new website - Done
Ok, lets keep adding features like posting pics and videos of our kick ass tour - Done
Ok, drummer left lets get a new one - Done
Ok, lets stop touring - WTF???

It doesn’t make sense. There has to be more to this. You don’t do all this for nothing. Maybe TR has more things planned than touring, I just wish we knew. If TR has something great up his sleeve, let us know.... Don’t keep us hanging, wondering what’s going to happen.

Sorry, this is how I feel at the moment.

all i'm sorry about is, that i couldnt be part of the us tour...
im from europe. so i had no chance.
i hoped to see nin at their best

12/03/08 9:19 PM

I really shouldn't, I said there would be nothing more, but I am.

There were no mistakes made. You were being respectful by approaching them for they do hold the rights to some of the songs. They were, and are, being fools not you. They are allowing something of this magnitude to slip through their fingers without realizing the amount of kickback $$$ they could have received. If, and when, you attempt this again, do it on your own terms using your own visions and your own mind. Do not allow hubris to consume the project. And yes you are right the concert was ... orgasmic. Thank you for that and all the hard work it took to get it there. And as far as any concerts done in the foreseeable future - rest my man, rest. Take time to enjoy & see the world & all the beauty and sheer awesomeness that she possess with in. But promise me that you won't "see" it with just your eyes but with every fiber of your being. There are no endings just continuous beginnings but it's what we do with them or how we seize them that makes them - makes us - who we are. You have done well, sir. You have done well.

I see a lot of people are complaining. Understandable. However, you guys need to look on the bright side:
1. Trent never said this is the end of NIN
2. You have one more year (hopefully) to catch them in concert
3. You now have motivation to bootleg the shit out of this tour.
4. It's Trent! He won't let us down.

12/03/08 9:21 PM

God damn bastard record companies. Always trying to fuck it all up. I'm sorry to hear that Trent, hopefully something can come through. Your a big insperation for me, and your music is one of the only remaining good music out there. I really wished i could have gotten to see you on this tour. But i wish you luck in this bad news. We're all with you man.

12/03/08 9:22 PM

this is depressing.sad smiley but i am glad i got to see the lights in the sky tour live. it was the most AMAZING thing i have ever seen.

That is unexpectedly unfair. You should’ve told us earlier. We deserved it. Now it’s too late. It wasn't fair not to say anything.

Maybe the deal just recently fell through. That's how record labels roll. A bunch of decrepit old white guys who string your ass along until you break.
But didn't Trent already know that? Why did he go messing around with a record label for the DVD when he knows very well that record labels can't be trusted? If he was able to find alternate funding, couldn't he do that before recurring to a record label?
