Goddamn record companies are always fucking shit up. Why can't they screw the crappy pop bands over?

Well, I'm glad I at least got to be a part of this amazing tour. I'll have the bragging rights over future NIN fans. I'm disappointed that we won't get to see a DVD release. I was seriously looking forward to it. Bummer...

I hear ya, Trent. I recently read a "Best Tours Of 2008" poll that included Carrie Underwood and Usher. Not a breath about Lights In The Sky...

...what do they know, anyways?!?

clearly the dumb asses were blinded by the ridiculous mainstream shit that gets put out year after year after year it all starts to sound the same. WAKE UP ASSHOLES AND TRY SEEING A REAL FUCKING ARTIST FOR ONCE!!!! FUCK

probably cause their shows sell out everywhere because that shit gets promoted to no end.its not even good music.what a fuckin waste of $$$$ airtime, promotion and press.

12/03/08 10:15 PM

First of all, thanks for everything Trent, you are truly an artist. Throughout the years you have remained the same, always giving your all to the fans and never selling out. Second of all, I am sad to hear that this may be your last tour and I hope that you may return sometime in the future, even if it's on a smaller scale. No matter what YOU are loved by all your fans! We will wait to hear further news.....

Riot said... It isn't the end, its just the part where we all have to deal with the fact that the music industry, and the economy have been destroyed. Nine Inch Nails will have to function on a different level then it has in the past

Exactly... i think it could be much cooler actually... Just more difficult.

I suppose there are going to be some sacrifices we have to make to allow the fall of capitalism

Here's my interpretation:

The next tour is going to be scaled back visually. It won't be the big visual production that we had on this tour and 2007's tour. Also, Trent needs a break from NIN. He said the same thing after the 2006 tour wrapped up and after the 2007 tour wrapped up.

And remember I also remember reading that he said that as long as it feels relevant, he'll continue to create music under the NIN brand. So I don't think this is the end of NIN. Just closing one chapter and getting ready for the next.

I hope you are right. I don't mind a scaled back tour. I don't mind if I have to wait a couple of years. Shit, I waited 5 in between Fragility and With_Teeth! I just want the hope to be able to see NIN live again! I've seen them 9 times and they just get better each time. I even said the Minneapolis date this time around is the best concert I've seen ever, hands down! Anyway if they don't tour anymore what the hell will I do with my extra money? Actually spend it like a responsible adult and buy a house or something?eye rolling smiley

awww shit. sad smiley why do record companies have to screw up everything? and its not like TR can take them to court or anything because they legally own the rights to his songs. looks like we're never getting a dvd. sad smiley

Hey guys, you know what I just realized. I know it's not the same, but it's something <3

All of the fan filming, even in its low or grainy quality. All of the fan pictures, all of the professional pictures. Its all here. The memories, they are here. I know we could never singly mirror back the magic we saw live, but as a whole, the spirit of this leg is there inside the pictures and video.

I searched the internet and saved every picture, video, and song file I could find from the shows I saw live. I will always treasure the memories

I believe Trent is not necessarily throwing it in, just throwing in the NINE INCH NAILS that we are used to. He has many loose ends to tie up anyways. For all we know he could become like the BEATLES and not tour anymore and just release albums. Or he could help form some other unrelated band while not necessarily being the frontman. I am just saying I think this part of the road for Trent is over. And honestly, I am happy.
If we consider NIN what I believe it has become, which is sort of a haven for broken or damaged souls to not only relate to each other, but also REPAIR each other, and if Trent is finally going to pack that part of it in, it means we have all the material we need to repair each other without new material. If that made any sense... It means we can move on and grow up. Maybe I am just speaking for myself though.

12/03/08 10:21 PM

thats fucking bullshit. fuck interscope those fucking assholes.... i was so pumped to be able to buy this on dvd...do whatever you have to do,film it in hd i dont give a fuck just do something...

12/03/08 10:22 PM

We can only pray NIN wins one (or both) of their Grammy nominations, and the award is given live. TR's acceptance speech would be one for the ages.

Still hoping for the miracle and a DVD materializes. I'd settle for a special NINternet event for fans, a live show online, high-quality video and audio, with the option of buying a quality download. It might not be a DVD but I'd gladly put my money directly in TR's pocket for the record of a truly great event.

12/03/08 11:22 PM

ok i am a little calmer and can type now. i think deep down trent knows he makes a difference to all of us. he has with me, since the first tour i saw back in 1989 and every single one of his tours since. no matter how shitty your life is at that time, seeing nin live makes everything that is fucked up around you going on, better. especially now in this economy and the way this world is fucked up. and i also hope it goes in reverse. trent, when you look at into that crowd and see our faces, the happiness and joy of seeing you perform live, i hope it also makes anything in your life that might be going on a little brighter. not sure if i make sense here, but i tried.

12/03/08 10:26 PM

Fuck, I just assumed there was going to be a DVD of this tour sad smiley I would have settled for a regular DVD, not a fancy-ass, 3D, state-of-the-art, High Def whatever. Thinking the whole thing got ruined (partialy) because of the huge planning it took, makes me want to say: "Just burn it on DVD, Trent". Where's Rob when you really need him?

12/03/08 10:26 PM

The is that we gonna have a DVD hehehe!!! smileys with beer

12/03/08 10:28 PM

Trent, please still give us the year zero HBO miniseries!

12/03/08 10:28 PM

Trent just pirate the concert on DVD. "Slip" it onto Pirate Bay and I'll mail you a check

12/03/08 10:29 PM

Please, please. I know you probably want the DVD to be perfect but hire a crew and film Las Vegas , 12/13/08. We'll take less than perfect, really.

Not capturing this magnificant tour on video is just so hard to fathom.

12/03/08 10:29 PM

Well hold on a sec... Sure 3D would have been nice, but do you mean to tell me that you have no shows recorded of the LitS tour? I mean, and I quote from wired,

"With more than 40 tons of lighting and stage rigging, [...], three different video systems and an array of sensors and cameras, the tour is nothing if not a lavish display of techno wizardry."

and later (taken from an image caption)

"Moment Factory's world of cameras. During a performance of "Terrible Lie," one camera directly records the stage and then runs that video through a special effect. [...]"

(from: [www.wired.com])

I mean I know that the Moment Factories cameras are there to generate and process the visuals for the gig, but with all these cameras and computer do you mean to tell us that nothing was recorded that could be edited to produce a live dvd? Or is the quality such that it wouldnt make for a good dvd ("Beside you in time" was awesome!)

However, in the spirit of the new nin.com I'd almost be more excited to see a fan produced dvd, compileing the best material from this site, into a unified whole. So fans who are lined up to see the last LitS shows, bring HD handehelds (16 per gig should do) and audio recorders (stand infornt of the mixing booth).

i think it's bad that the record company took their time to get back to him. i think it sucks that a movie wont be made but these guys need a break. They have been going for so long.

12/03/08 10:30 PM

went to the new orleans voodoo fest show and was by far the best concert/experience i have ever seen/had. i can not thank trent and company for that.

as for the fuckin record company, FUCK YOU!!!!! dropping the ball of course.

they will take your money all day but ask them to spend a little, not happening.

Oh wow, man. Oh... ok. It's all ok. You know what? I saw what will probably ever remain the most unforgettable musical experience of my life in Morrison and nothing can't take that away from me no matter how much they want to. Thanks for it. Here's to the future. (raises glass in toast)smileys with beer

this can't be happening, I must be caught in some horrible dream.. the one's where you can't wake up and end it! sad smiley

12/03/08 10:31 PM

Wow - what a buzzkill.

I'm glad I made it to four shows this tour. All were unbelievable and unique. Thanks Trent.

12/03/08 10:33 PM

Maybe this is wishful thinking, but if we post over 1000 replies, maybe Trent would invite the people who posted to an exclusive concert...

12/03/08 10:33 PM
