that would be a bit desperate on his part but i would put money in it too.even if it wasn't for a project i'd throw some $$$$$ his way just because he's worth it.

well, Trent said he "then achieved the impossible by finding alternate production/funding" but it's the amount of time they have to do it in that really is the problem.

i think that is the perfectionist in him talking.he could get it done if he really wanted to.

If anyone else is going to Vegas and wants to help film, PM me.

Also - most of the organization is located here. Fuck security. We're going to sneak in cameras, ninja style.

And if you want to donate to this, which some of you have expressed the crazy ideal that you would, I have set up a donation paypal account that is currently going toward getting this guy to come film at the Vegas show.

If you want to donate...

Donate here.

The fan made DVD is such an awesome idea. If I had the funds, I would proudly come and help. But alas, i have no disposable income, and can't. I may try to slip some donation money though.

I also agree, Trent (and the rest of NIN for that matter) deserve a long break form touring, Interscope, and just in general, crap. I hope that the fan-made dvd goes well, and for all we know... there may be an official dvd anyways, just not in 3D. No problem for me.

congrats on a great tour nin, we cant wait to hear from you guys about whats next on the horizon.

I think it's more than possible that Trent will still realize some sort of media out of this tour, you know he's got something up his sleeve.

12/08/08 8:05 PM

I have seen hundreds of shows over the last 20 years or so and I must say, this was the best stage show I've ever seen. I've never seen a stage show compliment the music so well. There have been acts where the stage show is the show (Dio, Kiss) and acts that play great and have no stage show (Pearl Jam). Your show was a great marriage between stage and music. Tool comes close, but you have it down to a science.

Your DVD's have been absolutely breath taking. When my friends want to see what Blu-Ray is all about, I pull out your DVD.

I really think you have the right model for the music industry. You give the fans the opportunity to create their own mixes, etc...

I was sooo looking forward to buying this tour on Blu-Ray and to think that it might have been done in 3-D... Wow.

I don't think you need the elaborate stage show to put on a good show. Your music stands on it's own. With that said, I thank you for putting so much thought and love into your shows. I will always remember this last tour.

Keep hope alive smiling smiley

Reading this post has made me sick to my stomach. sad smiley
I was thrilled to go to two of the shows. (I wish I could have gone to more.)
I was so excited of the prospect of a dvd release of LITS, to relive the BEST SHOW EVER (No joke, or Kanye blow.) over and over FOREVER, but no. sad smiley sad smiley
Now to hear NIN might never tour again and this might be the end, is TOO MUCH.
Say it isn't so Trent. Say it ain't so.
If this is the end, Thank you SO MUCH for everything you and your crew have done.
Your music has saved me and countless others as I'm sure you are well aware.
When you have to fight constantly against the world, you get battle weary.
Everyone needs a break from the bullshit every now and then.
I'm sure the statement was released at a moment of deep disappointment and frustration,
so hopefully this obstacle won't be the end of NIN.
Whether dealing with whatever problem I have in life, with school, when I am at work, riding my horse, working out, cleaning a constantly trashed house, whatever...
My phrase I live by is "Utilize the obstacles."
I love figuring out ways to make them work out for me, instead of against me. smiling smiley
I'm holding out hope that a DVD will somehow be able to be released, and that NIN will continue for as long as possible.
Please don't let this stop you Trent.

Ibprofen thick in your fingertips
but the ache is from a stress
that won't die of prescription
and the best is the jest
formed of a family disfunction.
Pulling the plug is dumb enough,
but they hated the patient
so it was only a shrug
to define the disciipline
of covering up
your silver coated prism.
They want platinum!
Not your memoribilia monet`
or the fragile little light
inside your dark reflected disarray.
Your hand they bite
but your offering them meat...
Don't you know by now
people without a stand
have to borrow others feet.
While those that fight,
you know what I mean,
we are left on the side
to re create
that torn up dream.

Oh man- All I can say is that, while I deeply regret that Nine Inch Nails won't be repeating the same concert in the future, it was truly remarkable to watch you on the stage and perform the best fucking show I've ever seen, Trent. I believe Nine Inch Nails is the epitome of perfect music, so even though you won't be playing any more in the foreseeable future- thank you for all you've done.

This should be fucking awesome.

I read a while ago that a one time show playing all 36 Ghosts tracks was possible. That is 100% Trent's right to distribute, they should do that show and record that. It would be amazing. I know that the Ghosts portion of the shows were absolutely amazing, and that was only 3-4 tracks per show. A high definition recording of Ghosts I-IV would be amazing.

Damn, I would LOVE to see an all Ghosts show. Ghosts is amazing! I just wish motherfuckers would shut the fuck up during the current Ghosts set up so I can enjoy it in peace. If NIN could capture this visually it would be amazing. I would honestly prefer a stripped down stage set up so I could see all the awesomeness without being distracted by the (beautiful) visuals.

Mr. Reznor,
You can see the intense passion for your music and your performance. This is a hard hitting blow for a lot of us. I know it makes no difference but i always saw you as continuing the NIN project until your last breath so it was a little creepy to hear you talk like that. It almost seemed as though NIN had been defeated. I apologize for the over-reaction but thats just how much I care about the music youve given us and the music you hopefully will continue to give us. and more importantly, YOURSELF.

Best wishes man,
Your faithful fan

Agreed.... Ten-fold.

I will ALWAYS treasure the memory of the 2 shows that I saw in Texas (Dallas and San Antonio). My best bud had the honor of seeing you guys in S.A. (It was his first concert EVER!), and he treasured every moment of it.

I hope that someday that I can have the honor of seeing you guys on stage again.

Thanks for your honesty with the fans that love you.

This is bad news, especially for those outside the US who can only see snippets on YOUTUBE. I'm in the UK and are scanning arena's and popular venues every day to be able to get to see them. The UK is littered with touts who buy up all the tickets and sell on EBay. If I'm not going to be able to get a good view, I could still look forward to the BluRay / DVD release. Alas!

This probably sounds like since this is the end, and after some many have posted. It lite a fire under their ass to set up such to grab HD cameras as they did with last one. Yet this time they might be able to still do 3D if filmed with HD or digital cameras as they have done with a few other works...
It sounds almost promising.

i think too many people are jumping the gun here - nothing has been set in stone so just try and calm down until trent posts the next step.

O.K. TR, you have to change that "curtain call" post now. I'm tired of looking at it and just reading the updates. Can't you say anything else or do you just don't want to? Either way it has to be changed. Updates are always great and I look forward to them even though they don't apply (to me ie not attending any shows out west). Lets here some ideas in store for the 2009 shows/new drummer ect. Or maybe how long of a break you'll need after all of this. How about this "camcorder/camera idea you've been posting about...perhaps a fan backed DVD in future. I dunno!

As you see I had nothing to do for 20 min so I thought I'll wright some things down.

Take care...

I'm just grateful someone's prepared to respond to what I said with a bit more intelligence - I've had a couple of slightly hostile responses to what I was trying to say, as though I'd said something really degrading about NIN when I was just stating a (sad) fact - I admit I think I sounded a bit harsh, but it's only cos in all the years I've liked them I've only had one chance to see them live and that was fourteen years ago! I never thought then that future chances would be so rare. Ok though, what about venues like Barrowlands or any of the Academys? other successful bands play these venues (Primal Scream, Radiohead, The Killers for example are prob as big over here as NIN and they don't always play arenas.) I really thought the NIN fanbase in Europe was massive though, didn't their 2005 tour sell out really fast?

Dude, stop the quote tunnel! tongue sticking out smiley

But you're right, NIN sold out two Amsterdam shows in Paradiso (equaling 3000 tickets) in a mere 6 minutes. The bigger venues across Europe were also solidly sold out if memory serves me. But I think two Heineken Music Hall gigs (capacity 5500) would also have sold out easily. Especially since NIN doesn't come over to Europe regularly.

Ha-ha, yeah sorry - this posting messages on forums malarkey is obviously a bit new to me! It's not normally my kind of thing. But I agree with you - the European venues sound about the same size as the ones in the UK, we have Carling Academys in almost every city now plus venues like SECC and NEC - NIN would have no probs selling these out - but if they're not going to tour Europe then I guess it's their choice - it's a real shame though.
