cameron was most likely considered because he had access to the technology to make that possible and it probably would be cheaper for trent. you have to remember that this tour has been EXPENSIVE for him and the man isnt made of money. its all been out of pocket.

I have just caught up on the news, and I'm very sorry to see that what would've been an amazing project won't happen. Trent certainly has more reasons to be disappointed than any of us, and I hope he knows we appreciate everything that he's done so far. This has easily been the best show I've seen in my life; my only regret is that I've only caught it once. Anyone on the East Coast up for a cross-country field trip to catch it again? smiling smiley

I also hope that retirement rumors are overblown, and we'll be hearing more from NIN after Trent and the guys take a well-deserved break.

Cameron would not have cost money?? im sure the guy would've wanted to be a paid shitload . and it certainly doesnt have to 3D. i get certain persons want to guise themselves as being hip and on par with technology but calm down, cause the latest tech isn't always necessary.

THE BEST SHOW EVER, AS I SAID, THERE IS THE FEELING THAT NO ONE CAN BE COMPARED WITH NIN, YOU GUYS PUT UP SOMETHING AMAZING, WAS A EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EMOTIONS OF ALL KIND ROSE ON IT.

I saw this tour in Toronto and Hamilton and it was the best show I have ever seen. I have been a NIN fan from day one and have seen them every time they have come to Toronto. This show was definitely the best concert ever. Please don't let this be the last Trent. There is nothing else out there musically or visually worth seeing. NIN blows every other so called band out of the water.

NIN FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!

Once and for all:

TRENT IS HUMAN

He needs a break

Interscope fucked him around fucked him over and kicked his puppy. He has every right to be pissed off and be all fed up. He probably desperately wanted to share this tour with the fans who couldn't go to a show for some reason or another, in all it's glory, the way HE envisioned it.

He probably WILL tour again. Just won't be on the scale of LITS. The guy just needs a break, time to breathe, time to get his head together.

Touring is fucking draining. Let the poor guy have the break he so richly deserves. He busted his balls for us, now let the dude have his justifiable break.

Trent, If you're still observing this fucking trainwreck of a thread, if you're ever in my town, I'll be honored to buy you a beer.

Someone had posted that their only regret was having seen the show only once. I concurr.

But I feel so lucky to have been able to see this amazing show here in Chile. It's not often that I visit nin.com only to find out that my favorite band is coming to my neck of the woods... it was an early Christmas (which is kind of funny because my wife is holding me up to that, and says that I'm getting dick come Dec. 25th. I already got what I wanted).

Anyhow, to those of you going to the Portland show, bring back the goods!

Un abrazo,
peace. love. nin.

I was fortunate enough to see this tour at the very beginning in Pemberton, BC and part of the end in Victoria, BC. Trent, have you any idea what you do for your fans and the amount of joy(understatement) you bring us? Your shows are the best I've personally have ever seen (and I've seen a lot). The amount of blood, sweat and tears you put into it does not go unnoticed!
I too, am saddened to hear that this may be all for awhile from you. You have given us all SO much in the recent though so I can't say too much!
You are an incredible artist and THANK YOU and all involved with making this tour a reality and tremendous success that it was! I won't soon forget it and will keep telling people that it was the best I've ever seen.

I'm thinking that Trent has something figured out for the next couple of shows in terms of a video release and isnt so worried about rob updating nin.com with live photos. thAts my hope. it seems to make sense. idk maybe its just be being delusion-ally hopeful

That's what I think and hope as well.

I'm hoping that during this hiatus he goes bat shit crazy from sitting around all day in his boxers watching porn and comes back to go on a 2 year club tour *crosses fingers*.

12/08/08 2:59 PM

I caught the show in Charlottesville VA at the John Paul Jones arena. My god...absolutely the most amazing concert experience ever. Even better my friend got 2 free tickets from XL102 and he's not even a NIN fan. However, I would totally pay $100 to see another NIN concert.

QFT.

And as eager as I am to get a taste of LITS (or a similar tour) here in Europe, it's rather obvious that master Trent needs a break, get naked on a tropical island and do some shit that has nothing to do with music until he can't help himself and write/record something again. Or whatever variation on that theme. smiling smiley

Trent,
You know, things always seem to work out the way they are supposed to, whether we know it or agree with it or not. Just the fact that you tried your best to do such a phenomenal thing for your fans is enough. I am so fortunate to have seen this show during the first leg of the tour and again during the second leg as well. It saddens me that I won't be seeing you again for a bit, but I know you'll have something else just as extraordinary for us in the future. (Seeing you every few years is like seeing a much loved old friend with whom you've spent too little time for too long.)

The cost of this tour must have been exorbitant and it's understandable if you're not inclined to do something on this scale again. But thank you for doing it this time. You have given me uncountable hours of joy and tears with your work. This tour, and every other I've seen you perform over the last 18-20 years, are by far the best shows I've ever seen from any artist. Hands down. Every time.

So for now, I'll just say thank you again. I'll look forward with great anticipation to your next project. Know that we all love you and will will miss you during your time away from us.

one word: jetlag

12/08/08 4:12 PM

Trent. Please don't ever look at this thread. It's beyond ridiculous.

Take your break. Take some time for yourself. Get AWAY from your fans. Run as far away from us as possible.

To all my fellow Nine Inch Nails fans, LET THIS GO. I'm begging you.

"Jesus won't you fucking whistle, something but the past and done?"

i'm not quite sure what to say. The record companies never seemed to halter Trent before. Maybe he knew deep down that this might be the end of live NIN all along. I mean, he put sooo much money into this tour, and with him being a perfectionist, he probably wanted to go out with a bang, something he could truly be proud of.

Either way, we will support you no matter what Trent.

On a lighter note, I would guarantee you will continue to make music, as "nine inch nails" or not, but he would never just stop making music.

I believe this applies to the topic at hand, if not directly, then certainly as a corollary to the discussion of record companies being agents of Lucifer. It appears as if some wise recording industry bigshots have finally come up with a legitimate plan to make music file sharing totally legal and unrestricted. Just read this today, check it out:

one more thing.. allowing fans to compile videos and call it the tour dvd --> BOOTLEG!!
I dont see why he even went to interscope for help on this,or for anything.

It's not like the "relaxed camera/camcorder policy" was making that great of a difference. Security will be dicks no matter what.

Good luck to those attending the Sacramento venue, as well as Las Vegas.

I wish Trent would put like a paypal donate link up for funding this project and I'd gladly dump a paycheck or 2 into it to see this done

Filming for Vegas must go on.

Everybody already knows the reasons why, so do it!

that would be a bit desperate on his part but i would put money in it too.even if it wasn't for a project i'd throw some $$$$$ his way just because he's worth it.

It was to me... I'm in charge of the Fan Made DVD Project that is happening in Vegas, so he was just sending me a PM to let me know he wants in.

If anyone else is going to Vegas and wants to help film, PM me.

Also - most of the organization is located here. Fuck security. We're going to sneak in cameras, ninja style.

And if you want to donate to this, which some of you have expressed the crazy ideal that you would, I have set up a donation paypal account that is currently going toward getting this guy to come film at the Vegas show.

If you want to donate...

AMOUNT ACHIEVED!... NIN FANS ROCK.

well, Trent said he "then achieved the impossible by finding alternate production/funding" but it's the amount of time they have to do it in that really is the problem.
