I feel totally disgusted and sorry for torturing the prisoners or for the troops stimulation to "better slaughter" their enemies.

On the other hand it is the best evidence of the fact that majority of the things (ideologies, arts,...)created for good, harmony, delight, energization, joy ... could be abused in direct contrast >> devastation.

I'm not so naive to believe that torturing in this way will end up. It occured before Bush and - unfortunately - very likely will happen after him.

The thing that bothers me the most about this is the after-effects. I don't know if any of you have read A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess but in the book the main character Alex is forced to listen to Beethoven's 5th symphony for a tortuous amount of time. Afterward he couldn't stand to listen to it. Just imagine driving your car and suddenly "march of the pigs" begins to play on the radio,(one of the songs they used to torture the inmates) suddenly this mental trauma kicks in and you are bombarded with flashbacks of torture and you get in a terrible car crash and everybody dies. Granted that is a little bit of an exaggeration but you get the point.

Or you're just starting to remember, of them cutting out of you, and getting the beat of your life, -from something else, maybe something totally random...I don't think if it matters...Nin or a knife..or constant pain Really, you're overreacting. They get tortured while NIN was played...so what? I got beaten a lot of time, whitout music in the background.. somehow I can't see the difference (even if it's a cinical joke)

It's obviously not good that people are put through 'torture' falsely. However if even one of the few (and yes, contrary to what the media say it is a few) provide some information that will prevent the deaths of hundreds to thousands of people it would have been worth it imo.

FTR - I completely disagree with the usage of artists songs without their permission and also the usage of physical torture such as waterboarding etc. Though psychological stressing has been shown to be even more effective with less 'long-term' damage. This has been going on for years and will go on for longer, And like it or not, intelligence provided by these methods has saved lives.

The fact that people only care about this when their favourite band is involved is rather disturbing.

Humanity's been doin' it for a "couple" of years.. Nothins special about it. We feed it, kill it, eat it, enjoy it,-.even if it's our own race- and not so long ago aact so f*ing civilised about it...Not saying torture isn't bad..just saying people, are more worse and always will be, and at the top of it, most of them are hypocrites , discussing ending torture, not being able to admit it, that it's in our natureand if you'd be bigger you'd do some f*cked up things too..
