How much of Reznor's incredibly prolific, incredibly inspired last few years would have happened without him?
Reznor literally saw the end of the world in George W. Bush, and he had to stop it, and to do that, he had to illuminate it. That had to be a rush of energy and inspiration. Maybe it was even a factor in getting clean; to have better command of his weapons. That might be the one thing I'll miss about George Bush. A hero is only as good as his villain, and we got to learn that our favorite gloomy goth guy has the fighting instincts of a hero.
