Hah. That's a good question- I never thought about that! I don't think so, though. They're completely different and seem to be about completely different things. I see Deep as being about two people, and Even Deeper being only about one. So I dunno. Kinda like The Downward Spiral, and Further Down the Spiral, except not. Because those two sound more like one another.

When I started reading this article I thought "Trent??... So THAT'S why he's not wearing any pants!!"

Apple Facing Lawsuit Over Exploding iPod Touch
A mother from Ohio says her son's iPod Touch exploded in his pants, caught fire, and left him with serious burns. Now, she's suing Apple for $225,000 in damages.

Just now reading the article (Kentucky - 12/4/08) and several questions instantly sprang to mind. Hmmm. But get a load of the legal mumbo-jumbo:

Plaintiffs believe, [the mother who filed the lawsuit] and based thereon allege, that each Defendant, [all 10 Apple employees] jointly and severally, in some manner acted intentionally, maliciously, willfully, wantonly, recklessly, and was otherwise grossly negligent and acted with conscious disregard and / or malice as well as negligently, and therefore, are legally responsible for the damages arising out of the events and happening alleged in this complaint. eye rolling smiley

In a nutshell: The minimum wage employee who sold the device.

But the quote below is made to sound like the boy let out a blood-curdling scream, lept from his desk during class and ran shrieking from the room engulfed in flames.

He continues to suffer from both physical and mental conditions which will cause him to suffer pain, mental distress, emotional distress and otherwise for the rest of his life.eye rolling smiley

What the kid will really suffer is: Involving his classmates and teacher as witnesses; his entire school will hear of it; having an asshole greedy Mother; his trousers held up in court as Evidence A; the judicial system knowing he wears nylon/spandex underwear. Let's pray to God it wasn't a Spiderman print adding to his humiliation.

After being thrashed in the mosh pit, a startled woman leaves behind her slipper at a NIN concert. The safety of her car awaits as the clock is "tick, tick, ticking away." Prince Reznor finds the shoe and is resolved to find her.

Stepsister #1 assures the handsome prince the shoe fits.

I changed my post because: Plaintiffs were and continue to be residents of and citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Also, Plaintiff was attending school in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Kentucky is across the Ohio River from Cincinnati so I'm assuming the lawyer practices in both states, but the lawsuit was filed in Cincinnati -- Mom and son are not from Ohio.

This had to be a typo but it's written twice: ... incurring medical and hospital expenses in the amount of $15.00. Welfare recipients (?) and prolly public school. Dumbo's like her jack up prices for consumers 'cause Apple pays lawyers to protect themselves from idiots.

The school nurse called mom to pick up the kid, not an emergency team that life-flighted him to a hospital and a "friend" helped remove his pants in the john, not the teacher. A cold compress will relieve a second degree burn (red and blistered) and the boy gets an afternoon off. Being "boy" maybe he tried taking it apart, or dropped it several times, or something poked it in his pocket.

What you do is take the pants back to the store with kid in tow, show them his little burned spot and ruined iTouch. For not being an idiot (filing a lawsuit) they'd replace it on the spot and maybe throw in a few freebies.

How much of Reznor's incredibly prolific, incredibly inspired last few years would have happened without him?

Reznor literally saw the end of the world in George W. Bush, and he had to stop it, and to do that, he had to illuminate it. That had to be a rush of energy and inspiration. Maybe it was even a factor in getting clean; to have better command of his weapons.

That might be the one thing I'll miss about George Bush. A hero is only as good as his villain, and we got to learn that our favorite gloomy goth guy has the fighting instincts of a hero. smiling smiley

At least Chaney is still a d-i-c-k.

I'm so sick of hearing about George Bush (and Obama for that matter) that I'm going to puke in my own asshole and felch it on out.
Making him out to be the embodiment of what is wrong with the US is and always will be a mistake, cause what is wrong with the US is us. I think Trent didn't need Bush, and he didn't "stop it". He commented upon our ugly selves and we bought the record and went on being ugly. That is, IF we're only talking about Year Zero.
Unless you're trying to say that Bush is responsible for the artistic wonder that is Ghosts I-IV?

He had been waving shoes at that man for approximately a week, while telling him about foot damage caused by long term wearing of high heels.

Afterwards every other shoe shop in the area received a visit.

Today I talked with one of the coolest persons I know about Nine Inch Nails for the second time, a bit more talking than the first time we mentioned NIN in a conversation. And while I told a bit about what NIN did in the last years, after he asked: They still alive? we joked about on what song he thought now. And when I guessed: "Closer" he answered: Actually I thought on the Soft Cell cover of Sex Dwarf. I was like "Sweeeeet!"

Right now listening to "Down on it" on youtube and still fucking love this track.

I pissed away my chance to see them back in 2006 and they won't come back to El Paso, EVAR. (though there was some footage of that concert on the BYIT dvd, which kind of made me feel like more of an idiot to myself) Now I'm willing to go on a ROAD TRIP to catch them in Albequerque NM or Phoenix AZ!

Why won't Trent apologize for calling members of The Spiral "elit-ists"?

He won't apologize for something he never said. His direct quote:

"[The] elit.ism / exclusivity [of The Spiral] was in conflict with what we realized we wanted from an internet presence."

Because it was a members-only private forum he didn't like feeling he owed something to the fans... Trent also said he "didn't like the position [The Spiral] put him in." He didn't want to feel he owed to a private fan base; he didn't want to tend to the 'exclusive' Spiral. The whole point of leaving his label was freedom and he also wanted freedom on his new forum ...No more sequestering, exclusivity or elit.ism in our new home, it's open house here. winking smiley

You say he didn't say it, but it was implied so clearly that the word is now banned from being used here. Go ahead. Try to write the word "Elit-ist" without using any hyphens or periods in between and you get this:@#$%&. That in itself proves the point.

And as to not liking the position it put him in, you forgot the next words he said and I quote "I don't like the feeling of not living up to your expectations/owing you something." Well, to those who paid to join The Spiral and got NOTHING of what was promised for the money paid, this is still a bitter pill to swallow. And THAT is why I still think he owes at least an apology. It was money paid for services, NOT a donation.

Yes, that's true. Like people not receiving their exclusive T-shirt, problems with their poster (if they ever got it), some not wanting a private fan club, complaints about tickets --- A NIN nightmare... grinning smiley

Receiving what was PROMISED when you pay to join would have been good. I don't think that was an unreasonable request.
