This is why we can't have nice things.

Yeah, wouldn't it be nice if the fucking horny morons could just give it up so TR / NIN could have some good feelings about their forum for a change.

To be fair though he's just asking for it. Seriously, you can't wear Simon Cowell shirts with those arms and not expect creepy comments. It's like our receptionist with the DDDs wearing the DD bra complains that the UPS guy doesn't look her in the eye.
But yeah, some things are better left in your head and not on a public messageboard.

I wish people would stop mentioning the Spiral when shit goes wrong on NIN.com. I really do.

The Spiral is closed,quit bitchin'.

(Sorry just a random angry thought)

Ok, so when i think Nine Inch Nails, I think of what was happening a little before 1989. Therefore, when i came across this youtube video of Option 30, I immediately saw that Trent (with a small mullet) looked like MacGyver. Yes, i liked watching MacGyver. Does anybody see a resemblance? (sorry no pic of MacGyver, google it)

(Sorry not exactly sure where to put this comment/question but would like answers.)

I guess you could say Trent looked like an average Joe back in the day. Who knew that after all these years he would be a rock God? I remember having this discussion before on the old blog, but if you watch some of the old Option 30 vids closely, watch his eyes. People cannot hide their greatness or potential for greatness, and Trent is no different than you or me in this category. At certain points in a few of those songs when Trent is really getting into the music a flash of intensity will flow across his face,,especially in his stare. Watch for it and you will see that Trent was always destined for greatness.

My mum who absolutely doesn't speak/understand any words in English said this during Hurt while I was watching BYIT.

"This song is gorgeous. I don't know what it's about but it's just beautiful... It must be about loosing something, right?"

aaaww! That makes a song good, when you know what it's about without knowing the lyrics smiling smiley

Thank you for answering my question/comment. I did see the intensity in his eyes but you also see some thought process while he's playing especially in this youtube video when he was playing with some other band called Slam Bamboo on keyboards. He seems like the odd man out in it do to his look (he's behind a curtain) but its like he's seeing what would work and what won't with the music.

That holds true for his instrumentals also. That is what i feel about La Mer and all of the songs on Still.

i had a nightmare last night where i somehow missed getting in early (even though i had a presale ticket) and had to stand in the back.

i'm getting in line at, like, noon for the Columbia show.

You think if I asked very, very politely and offered a home cooked meal, Trent would give me a new mac for my birthday? I figure since he's such an apple fiend, and I'm so broke, it doesn't hurt to ask...

i like the lyrics to the songs immensely- Trent has an incredibly emotional singing voice, but i truly love the intrumentals. it's amazing how the lack of vocals can pull at something deep in your soul, something you may not have known was there, and take you to a different place.

stunning... and sometimes therapeutic... and always pretty damn cool

Because im in australia and have never got the chance to see them live and i knowww if i had been born in the u.s.a i would have tried to see them every time they played (money enabling). I would have been able to join the spiral, i would have probably met trent at least, and even maybe some of the other guys. I was also only 4 years old when trent started nin in 1988...so i only picked up nin eventually when i was in the 5th or 6th grade..so i feel somehow disappointed that i wasnt there for the beginning...

nevermind.....this website makes me feel connected smiling smiley thanks trent n rob.

So I was just listening to the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 2005 show for a bit today.

I'm listening to "Hurt," and right around "Upon my liar's chair" I hear, at the top of his lungs, someone bellow:

"JOSH FREESE IS A HOMO!"

I never really listened to this version that much or noticed it before. I about pissed on myself laughing. Although, it is really, really uncool when people fuck with that song and it makes me very angry.

09/12/08 9:49 AM

lights in the sky was the best tour i've ever seen from any band ever. i was fucking shocked trent topped the fragile tour and he even introduced his band this time around!

09/12/08 10:20 AM

I saw Trent and the boys in Georgia last month and I had concourse seats which were at left side of the stage, so I didn't get to see much of the effects. But that doesn't mean that the show wasn't one of the best shows I've seen from them.

Here are a couple of shitty quality videos I shot from the show.

I just gotta say that NO other band has the ability to write music like NIN's that I feel in my gut/groin/soul. Seriously. I am forever indebted.

I don't understand why "fans" hate on particular albums (With Teeth in particular) each album is styled differently from the last, you're never quite sure what to expect, I've enjoyed NIN in all it's iterations over the years. With Teeth was very raw and sounds less electronic, however the raw aspect I would expect from someone who exited rehab not long before, rediscovering your talent and ability. I'm glad to see Trent more put together these days, and releasing things more often with fresh ideas instead of having to wait 5+ years between albums. It really is a great time to be a fan, because not only do you have all the music from the past, but now we have someone who apparently is becoming a music releasing machine. Three albums, all different in just over a year. I really cannot ask for more.

awitha teetha was the first nin record I bought and my friend told me the fans didn't love it. I liked it but really got into nin because of Year Zero.
With teeth is more of a "rock" record, it's been growing on me, I discovered Sunspots, like, one month ago, I didn't like it at first.
There's something special about this record, it doesn't feel like it's the same Nine Inch Nails as in the Fragile or the Slip. That's how I feel it when I listen to the record.

My 3 year old sings along to what he calls "witha teetha"....that made me giggle like a little girl..grinning smiley

ah-with-ah-teeth-ahhhhhh

I don't hate ah-with-ah-teeth-ah.
I like several songs on said release... sunspots, all the love in the world, (title track of coarse) getting smaller, only, the hand that feeds, love is not enough.... OK I love the whole CD....

it's just not in the same ... genre of "The Fragile" in my opinion.
When I need to be soothed, I listen to the Fragile. When I'm in a good mood already, I crank W_T.

A hater? Me, I'm not.
(another fine song. but that is from YZ... another fine release!!)

another random comment: I can listen to "Me, I'm not" over and over and over for like, hours. Just a random musing, take it as you will!

I love The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust. I really would love to see what else he can do with other genres and artists. Or at the very least, another Saul Williams album.

[just kidding... maybe winking smiley]

I haven't said this anywhere yet, but as I was standing to the side of the floor at the Forum show in Inglewood, waiting for NIN to take the stage, Brett passed right in front of me two times and the second time we made eye contact for a split second. He seemed to be in a hurry, but it was still cool. tongue sticking out smiley
