I like almost every Nine Inch Nails song ever made. The three that come to mind that I don't like I actually don't mind. In fact, I don't even skip them, for different reasons.
The first one is The Only Time. How in the hell could anyone listen to that song and say it's worse than any song on Pretty Hate Machine, even That's What I Get (which, despite sappy heartbreak lyrics, is still pretty beautiful-sounding)? On the other hand, I don't skip it because it's just so odd and silly to me. That cheesy, 80's smooth jazz sounding bassline at the beginning, the fat stomping beat, that goofy keyboard riff that shows up in the middle of the song, the odd, nonsensical lyrics about (I'm assuming) wanting to screw a chick and getting screwed by the devil instead, and Trent saying, "maybe I'm all messed up" over and over in the chorus. It's like a creepier version of something he must have done in Option 30 or the Exotic Birds. It's the cheesiest, most dated sounding song I think he's ever done, and I find it enjoyable in a campy way because of it.
The other two are 15 Ghosts II and 25 Ghosts II. Not much is going on: They're just brief ambient excursions. This is ok, though, since they serve as neat little "intermission" tracks and are under 2 minutes.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I'm kind of disappointed that Trent himself actually dislikes The Perfect Drug. It has a great drumpart, a neat little drum and bass jam section, and I really like that sort of mournful ending with the White Wedding-like bass/guitar parts and the "it's not as much fun to pick up the pieces". Very cathartic.
