anyone notice that the cover of the new U2 album is pretty much the same thing (only not as cool) as the Ghosts cover? and i just heard on the radio that they hired some insanely talented asian artist to do it.... kinda funny.

Fan made videos suck ass. Why didn't you guys record the lights in the sky tour in HD and release a bluray/dvd? I'm hoping your secretly working on this because I didn't get a chance to make it to any of the concerts near me and I have been looking forward to buying the dvd.

Some of you guys are soooo whiney I swear to god. Wanting this, wanting that, why don’t you just appreciate what you have – 120gb of FREE video from one of the greatest shows ever. I, for one, am more than happy to watch Sacramento Cam 1-1, 1-2, and 1-3 back to back to back. + separate audio track are you freaking kidding me?

So AT THE VERY LEAST, you guys are getting a near …AATCHB quality cd for FREE.

HAHA!!! Just to go off topic for a moment. It's Wednesday 21st January, and down here in Sydney Australia we've been watching the swearing in of the 44th President of the United States. I really don't know much about politics, especially American politics, but I just have a really good feeling about Mr. Obama. It sounds cliche, but I'm a bit psychic, and when I was watching him being sworn in, I just got this really good feeling, whether it was the feeling from the crowd or what I don't know. It was like a great weight had been lifted off me. I think (and hope) that Mr. Obama will be a good President and do the right thing by the people and the country. All that aside, after the last president, the only way is "up", right? Now, back to our regular topic, and thank you moderators for allowing me to say my little piece.

Awesome stuff!

Brought a great camera to the Minneapolis show but found out the stupid slider flipped up in SOMEONE'S purse and it turned on for the 5 hour drive...dead battery! hahaha its ok, she felt really bad but at least we got to see the live show, we don't need pics. For the record, I now hate sony cybershots...why have the slide-lens cover turn it on? idoit engineers (oops thats what I do) lol

3rd row seats!!! Sat behind Josh Freese's parents, got to listen to them yell and scream at him to get his attention for a long time, hahaha! You guys put on a good show for them, congratulations to everyone.

Later,
d

NIN... this is awesome, but unfortunately our internet providers here in Canada charge extra for anything over your monthly download limit and frankly I'd rather give NIN my money than the multi-billion dollar beasts that monopolize the Canadian communications markets.

It's sad that you have to sink to the level of insults because you don't agree with my opinion. You may have the capacity to make a remix or a DVD, but you know what, not everyone has that talent. And Interscope is no longer Trent's record company, so your sarcasm isn't appreciated either.

I wasn't insulting you, I was saying you might have done a great job smiling smiley

There was meant to be an official release, and if interscope still didn't own a lot of the rights (as far as we know), then there would have been. I was gutted too when I heard about that, but it's the way things are. All we can really do is take something good from the situation.

Let me clarify my original point: I enjoyed "Closure", "All That Could Have Been", and "Besides You In Time", and I would have liked to see TRENT's version of all this material.

Ok Ok, I have to just vent this once and I will say no more.
Rule #1 of marketing: Remember consumers are easily confused (idiots) (anyone wh'os worked in retail knows this)
Rule #2 if you have to explain what the title is, then you've failed at proper branding.
Enough said.

That's not to say that the cover doesn't have LITS on it, just that it won't be the actual title. I visualize the final title as something like:

Code:
TITLE
Lights In The Sky 2008
this one is on us

End quote.
You edited this twice and it still makes absolutely no fucking sense - I take my hat off to you.

01/23/09 8:04 AM

My title was good I thought then I go to look and see how it's going, and"omfg ponys" is still there, but my simple LITS:On Us,is gone sad smiley

Ok, I'll let you do that (despite the fact you didn't need to).

Yes, so would I. I would have loved to. But it's not happening.

Have you even watched the stuff that the fans are working on? It's really awesome and it is coming together so nice. smiling smiley The clarity and audio come together perfectly. It's all coming out to be high quality and very professional like, I'm siked and excited to see the finished product, and I give a huge thank you, to all the talented NINers!

Nope probably not seeing how that was so far back anyways, you have to youtube it. tongue sticking out smiley
Plenty of footage on there, but, to me that's the past, you know? Trent's a completely different person and since we already know enough about his past, and our past, then we know how much everything changes in time, so, really, I like to focus on present and future. See where everything will go grinning smiley I consider us fans lucky to here any of the older songs really, wouldn't you get tired of singing a song over and over for 20 years? tongue sticking out smiley He only does that for the NINers! grinning smiley

That? Nah, that was just about the fact that there can't be an official dvd of this tour, we'd already been told about that in The Most Depressing Update Ever. I would love to have seen it as well, but unless someone buys the rights back from Interscope, it's not possible.

But yeah, I know what you mean! If you want new news, I left a link on the other thread (pg130 I think, best news ever), you need to read it right to the end winking smiley and it's in NINspotting as well thumbs up

I've lost that tab in my browser, otherwise I'd post it again.

A CALL TO ARMS!

The action starts here.

Feel like you can't get involved in a DVD project but really want to contribute in some way? Want to become part of an underground marketing group to spread the word?

TOIOU is looking for a street crew who are loud and enthusiastic, who can help to spread the awareness of this project.

In the future, there will be Truth Kits with stickers packs, flyer print outs, stencils, shirts, etc. that we want YOU to use for distribution. Trade them. Use them. Post them. Do what you gotta do.

What we are really want to look toward is having as many people as possible wearing TOIOU relative material at the upcoming sweep of tour shows. Show the other fans what they should be apart of... be loud with shirt designs of the logo or slip the url in the bathroom.

JOIN THE RANKS! USE YOUR VOICE!

Yo Trent, I hate to say this but I grew up listening to your music and my, it has accumulated. Don't worry I am here now, I hope to god to get to meet you someday before I get killed. Why don't you come at us with some more computerized music instead of all the absolute live stuff that's been. I love your video works with David Lynch, and how deep you got into your music. I wish, we could work together and get involved in some deep material. I know how you like that real music, like Capitol G, Into The Void, The Day The World Went Away, No, You Don't, The Hand That Feeds and the last track on With Teeth. I see you moving back to the electronics. Us musical genius's are locked up in our heads, and they're is no way out. People don't understand how much work we put into our music and they're isn't any hustling about it. I am currently checking out the intro to Lost Highway and my god man, and I heard the greatest techno track ever from the tapeworm project although a lot of insane fans put that label on some really cool songs. I bet if they played I'm Deranged at Gitmo they would have said hey this is some interesting music. Anyways I need to hear your techno catalog Trent because that's your best music. You are an onslaught when it comes to techno, you make them all look like a bunch of fools. Trent music is the backbone to your fame and that is not a lie. I still see that sparkle of light in your eye, you have much to contribute to this world, and stick to your techno, because you must accumulate more techno tracks. I haven't heard a techno track from you in ages and I miss that.
