With Teeth. Especially the title track.

I respectfully disagree. (it'd be nice if YOU could do that "theXfr4giLe"!)

Anyways I'd like to change my answer... "Further Down the Spiral" (halo 10).

Most of it is just.... noise.

09/10/08 1:59 AM

I wouldn't be able to choose one i love them all!!!

Hell i have non-halos even that have demos from 88 you don't even want to know what they sound like lol but yet i still love them

Who said I wasn't being respectful? Anyone with half a brain can tell that I'm kidding.
Guess its hard to distinguish "tone" on a message board, but whatever. Not my problem.

To be honest I'm not a big fan of The Slip. But I mean that by saying its the 'worst of the best'.

I just listen to TDS, or Broken or The Fragile , etc. and it sounds organic. The Slip has this processed 'DJ' feel to it.

I still like it but its on the bottom of the list.

09/10/08 12:54 PM

PHM I'm sorry prehaps its because I listened to it so often 17+ years ago but that one would be my least played anyway.

09/10/08 2:00 PM

Purest Feeling, LOL. No really.

09/10/08 1:55 PM

most of the remix albums smiling smiley

coz i cant not like any of the proper albums/original material

[WITH_TEETH] I do not like the first song at all. I maybe tried to listen to it three times but it's just not for me. I also like to listen to an album all the way through & I have a hard time [WITH_TEETH] & Year Zero.

09/10/08 8:48 PM

pretty hate machine is probably the lowest, it just sounds ancient (apart from head like a hole)

09/10/08 9:06 PM

The Downward Spiral, don't get me wrong, its an incredible album trumping teeth or fragile, but i really have to be in the mood for it.

09/10/08 9:11 PM

Fixed without a doubt...I LOVE the happiness in slavery remix however, that must be one of my favourite nin tracks.

09/10/08 9:19 PM

i also would say fixed.

Man. I love most of the albums everyone is saying is their "least favourite"! sad smiley

09/11/08 5:50 AM

im more shocked ppl dislike the fragile. i think the fragile is nin masterpiece. yes i said it. the fragile > TDS.

my least favorite would have to be the perfect drug versions. if not counting remixes, my least favorite is TDS.

09/11/08 5:50 AM

How you can put PHM behind any of the remix albums, I don't understand.
PHM is the most raw and honest album in my opinion. He wasn't a rockstar when he made it, no expectation.
In general I don't understand why you start these "worst album, song" threads.

09/11/08 6:45 AM

Broken - more on the 'heavy' side compared to what I listen to these days (I'm getting old!). If I include remixed albums etc then Fixed.

09/11/08 7:03 AM

Lol that one thing is always chaging for me =P until recently I thought it was Broken, up until I had this urge to listen to it and fell in love with it... Then I have also disliked Pretty hate machine, but I think it is a pretty good album to listen to when I'm lacking tracks that make me wanna shake it. I also got off on the wrong foot with The Downward Spiral, but it now happens to be one of my favourite albums ever. Fragile and with_teeth were probebly the only ones I imideatly fell in love with. YZ was one wierd ass album for me, but I loved it. Ghosts is veeeery sothing and I love it. The slip is probably the one I haven't really gotten used to soooo...

After all this talking my conclusion is that The Slip is probably the one I kinda like the least... But I still kinda like it.

Women are confusing.

I know I am xD

Ah You Fools!! How can u say that The Fragile it's NIN Worst Album, i mean, it has a lot of variety and such masterpieces as La Mer, The Frail, and almost every song in the LP is a 10.0 except for the first and last song of the right cd, i hate all the remix lp's because i think that's always like a way to make more money and it's kind of a distorted view of an original NIN creation, and it never respect the meaning of the song itself.

So basically, if you are a true NIN fan you will love all their "studio" work beacause each lp represent a certain moment, a certain piece of time in Trent's life, and for sure each lp has it's up's and down's, however, you need to respect as a true NIN fan all the moments and feeling's that it gives to you every time you listen to his music and the lyrics and you get identified.
Period. No need to argue.

WOW!!! I cant believe how many people dislike PHM.

09/11/08 2:33 PM

This is a rough subject..but id have to say the one i listen to the least and skip the most tracks on is TDS,the one album where i can listen to every track from start to finish would be The Fragile.

I think it is pretty amazing though the different types of musical interests Trent has attracted with different albums, some like the poppy, others like the noise, some like the slow piano. All in all this is probably one of the reasons why he has such a huge fanbase, well that and its the best music out there tongue sticking out smiley

Fixed and Things Falling apart.

09/11/08 5:21 PM

Year Zero- i thought it just wasnt focused enough, musically, its has good songs, just doesnt flow as an album

PHM isnt my favorite but it still gets a few listen

i used to HATE With Teeth, but its grew on my sooooo much after BYIT, now i love it

09/12/08 4:43 AM

Year Zero. Kill me

09/12/08 6:40 AM

THE FRAGILE. This could have easily been pared down to one disc. Starfuckers, Inc is a laughably bad song, it's like a white trash anthem.

Less is more.

09/12/08 1:46 PM

With Teeth is the blandest by far.
You Know What You Are is THE worst song Trent has ever writen. I have always found All the Love in the World and The Collector a bit cheezy too.

The only track I really like on that record is Sunspots.
After the Fragile and a Five year wait With Teeth felt was really dissapointing.

Thankfully Year Zero kicked ass. So he made up for it. I tried listening to With Teeth again recently and it sounds like a wimpy radio friendly version of the other NIN albums. Its not on the same level as the other NIN releases.

Its like the career midlife crisis album when an artist does not know where to go next.

09/12/08 6:24 PM

Pretty Hate Machine

I'm not a big fan of synthpop, so it's not exactly my cup of tea. But it's a great album in general.

And I think I could live without remix albums.

Agreed! It shows the variety of NIN music, every album has a different feel and sound to it, so the music attracts so many different kinds of fans.

And I feel that way about The Fragile too...amazing piece of work, from start to finish. Not 'easy listening' by any means! It's a challenging album to listen to.

09/12/08 8:52 PM

wtf is up with all the people who don't like Pretty Hate Machine. i don't understand.

the worst album is The Slip. everything else is amazing.
