Thank you TR and everyone involved with NIN... it has truly been a rollercoaster of a ride for the last almost, 20 years... I hope I get to see you wave goodbye... if not, all the best to come, hope to see you someplace, sometime in the future... cheers for now!!

Thanks again, for some of the greatest music I have ever heard, and being a BIG part of the soundtrack of my life.

What a bummer.

02/16/09 4:51 PM

enjoy the long break, you deserve it! but don't forget to play in germany before you fly to the bahamas winking smiley

02/16/09 4:51 PM

Whoa everytime I go to write something there is another page added lol.
Even if he doesn't do any NIN related work for a while I highly doubt he'll be able to keep himself from making SOME sort of music or project. Maybe he wants to do new stuff that he could never do under NIN. I dunno but I can't just picture him buying some beachhouse and lying on the beach allday but that's me lol. Breaks are good. We all survived the break between Fragile and With Teeth! Going onto the remix site is like listening to a new album each day (most of the stuff there is really good). Anywoo thanks to Trent for sticken around and being so awesome to us fans. Not to mention seeing Janes together again is going to be pretty fucking awesome.

Canada..I hope some dates are Canadian! Toronto please!!! If No Canada dates Buffalo or Detroit will do lol but driving across the border sucks sad smiley what do they think a couple of Canadians are gonna do!! jk

Can't wait!

Trent, i thank you for a lifetime of great memories and experiances. Ever since i was a teenager at the age of 14 after discovering the downward spiral ive been a dedicated fan ever since. Back then i didnt quite appreciate the music as much as i do now just because it was my teen years and those are obviously always fucked up. For a time a strayed after the long delay in album relseases but after With Teeth came out i found NIN once again. Then i went to my first NIN show Live With Teeth in minneapolis freaking blew my mind and i found myself once again obsessed with NIN. Then Year Zero and the ARG game and your stuggle with the record industry made me that much more side in your cause and i tried any way that i could to support you when you went indie by buying your mp3's and going to your shows. I have to say, nothing ever will eclipse the LITS tour, i truely thank you for that in so many ways.

But moving on, i hope you enjoy your break from NIN. You have worked hard over the years and you deserve a break, but i think you should never let NIN go completly. I also look forward to your other creative goals and hope they are just as inspireing and fullfilling as NIN was for me. I just hope the youth of the world can wake up and get away from the digested crap they are getting feed with thats out today and see what true music is all about.

Thank You.

That works for me too... It's all Britney Spears' fault!!! moody smiley

I'm also looking forward to the "tour", but it BETTER (and I MEAN it!) not just be an American tour (again!). That would totally piss me off. But as Trent says: "to book a last run of shows across the GLOBE..."

02/16/09 4:54 PM

I am dearly saddened by this but, Trent really deserves a break. Even if it's just a few years or truly forever; he will sure leave a lasting impact. I'll be sure to make it to at least one show so as to finally say I've been to a NIN concert. I myself am a relatively new and young fan, and didn't discover your music until a week after you played at the Duluth show in 08. I may not have the ability to say that I grew up with your music and was there every moment of it, but please let it be that I can start that trip with your music now for you have already left a deep impression on me. Best of luck though Trent and Co. and please let this not be the end.

*screams*
NIN became my favorite band after Jane's Addiction broke up. Holy fuck. I will go wherever I need to go to see this!!!

And I'm not worried about no more NIN. I don't believe for a moment that he's going to stop making music, even if he does retire the NIN name, which he's talked about before. He has definitely earned a break!

02/16/09 4:54 PM

OMG I think I'm going to have a nervous break down...

02/16/09 4:54 PM

i dont know what to say...

Two requests:

1 - Make fan-only pre-order sales the norm for these tours as much as possible. Fuck Ticketmaster at all costs.

2 - Don't just tease us over the next 10 or so years. If it's over, rip the bandaid off. Don't be like Robert Smith or Ozzy and declare that you're quitting every 6 months, only to work on yet another album and/or halfhearted tour. End on a strong note and then move on to other creative projects.

Awesome! It'd be neat for this to be a small-gig deal. A fans only concert.

02/16/09 4:55 PM

okay, i cried. i'll admit it.
if this is really the end, thank you for everything you have done not only for the music industry, but for my soul.

but, part of me, and maybe this is just the denial stage of grieving, can't see this being the end.

Trent, i just can't see you walking away from the music industry forever. it just... you've defined it as much as it has defined you, in a sense.
i don't want to accept that this is goodbye.
this is until next time... see you later... merry meet, and merry part, until we merry meet again.

come back to all your beloved NINnerds. please? :|

02/16/09 4:55 PM

i dont believe this is a goodbye for ever.Reznor is making music more than 20 years now.he just can t stop!!!take your break Mr Perfect Drug but come back to us soon!!!

02/16/09 4:55 PM

I'm so sad...

02/16/09 4:55 PM

I think I just heard my own heart break...

02/16/09 4:56 PM

I dont think this is the end. But if it is, thank you Mr Reznor for providing the sountrack to the last 15 years of my life. You will be greatly missed.

02/16/09 4:56 PM

Excited for the tour, i think the NINJA combo will be an experience to be sure!

So, take time to recharge and get back to creating more amazing work (because i don't know what i'd do without it).

As for the last 20 years, THANK YOU for all your music - it shaped me into who i am today.
Looking forward to the next 20......

02/16/09 4:56 PM

(*sniffles*) Thank you Trent for 20 years of amazing music and concerts. Come hell or high water I will see you in 2009! But it would be easier if you just came to Detroit. We could all use a little happiness here smiling smiley.
Can't wait to see NIN again soon...

02/16/09 4:57 PM

Looking forward to seeing you guys again this summer and I hope you have a relaxing break! Thank-you Trent for all of the beautiful music you have given me over the years.smiling smiley

02/16/09 4:57 PM

I predict the hysteria of this to far exceed that of the 'curtain call' update. Bring on the crying and the cutting now.

Every couple of years or so, they "disappear for awhile", only to re-emerge stronger and infinitely better. "Awhile" isn't usually synonymous with "forever". Reznor's dictionary seems to be a little different than Webster's. Just look at the word "soon". eye rolling smiley That's just my opinion though.

It'll all be OK. Bring on the tour dates!

02/16/09 4:58 PM

Definitely WILL GO! Hopefully I can catch you guys more than once since this will be it for a while. Haha, I'll never wave goodbye in actuality, because your music will never get old, and you guys won't ever be old washups like GNR. grinning smiley

Sorry GNR fans, I really was a fan, when I was like 10 though. No offense, really, I just think they suck.

Well i hope you dont disappear for to long... or forever. Because honestly the day you decide to call it quits.. is the end of music as we know it.
I literally only listen to NIN .. the only CD's i ever buy are NIN. What am i going to listen to now? Obviously i will always listen to NIN but there will never be anything new for me to listen to. I hate all the current bands. They dont even play real music.
Well i hope you do take a well deserved break you have been working your ass for many years. But i also hope we hear new music from you in the not so distant future.
We love you guys!

Oh yay. Curtain Call Part 2. brb, cutting myself.

Anyway, NIN + Jane's touring together? *explodes* 2 of my favourite bands.

Thank you Trent for all the amazing music for the last 20 years. I can't wait to see NIN and Jane's Addiction on tour. Your music has meant the world to me and you will always have my support, no matter what you do. Enjoy the tour.

Best wishes to you, Yasmin

Oh, GO, that man. Bloody sincere, honest, balls to the wall move, Trent.

Best of fucking luck at ya. I'll be in to go to THAT show.

Oh whoa.... tonight's show in Auckland (which I'm going to in...um... 5 hours) is going to be fucking epic. Kiwis: Bring a video camera if you can, there may be Words Said By The Man about this.

02/16/09 5:01 PM

TR is saying that hes bascially done touring for while(a long "while"winking smiley.

He is not done making music, so chill out.

02/16/09 5:01 PM

I must see NIN again.

It would be fucking great if they play in Basel or Strasbourg, or both.

02/16/09 6:01 PM

DAMN! I had a feeling this was gonna happen soon. I will for sure try to see them as much as I can on the last tour .. (for now). It would be nice to see Trent do some small venue/piano/acoustic tours in the future. Time will tell.
