I certainly wasn't expecting the news, it comes bittersweet. NIN has been my favorite band for about 15 years, slowly collecting music, hoping to some day see their genius live.
That became a reality for me on October 4 2008, when against all probability, they made a stop in Santiago Chile with the Lights in the sky tour.
It was epic, Im never going to forget the feelings that came before, during, and after the show. I cried during more than one song, came home euphoric and dying to tell my wife that I had the most amazing music experience of my life.
Trent, and everyone involved with NIN, thanks for everything you've done. I would like to say "done for us", but I know you always put out the music YOU needed to put out. I admire you because you march to the beat of your own drummer, and that is really refreshing in a world full of shitty new acts.
I wish you all the best, from the bottom of my heart. Your music will always be a part of the soundtrack of my life.
Un abrazo,
Rod Duran
