I just saw your show at the Santa Barbara Bowl and it was awesome. It looked like you were in rare form Trent and that is awesome. I am 30 years old and have been a fan for 20 of them. All I can say is thank you for all your hard work and thank you for sharing your musical gift with everyone. Words can't describe the impact Nine Inch Nails has had on my life, but I am eternally grateful. 20 years is an awesome run and time off is deserved. I look forward to your return but if that day doesn't come, take care man. Maybe someday soon someone will rise up and re-shape music once more as you had done for so long. Once again...Take care.
I know but just how long is a while?!?! 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years??? I agree 100% they need a break but just HOW long. I hate shit like this. Its like saying to a crack addict your going to get some crack buy just dont know when. WELL WHEN THE FUCK WILL THE ADDICT GET IT!!!
Sick of whiny bitches. You should be glad that NIN is not over, that this break is only "For a while". But no, you have to complain that you don't know how long the break is. I hate shit like you. And nice example, really imaginative.
WOW man , you need to chill out, i at no point am whining, im just curious, I guess i can use the phrase "curiosity killed the cat" in this situation. I just simply would like to know, just as the majority of NIN fans on just how long their break is going to be. Im not crying about it , or being like "WAHHHH I WANNA KNOW NOW!!!" Im very grateful that its "For a while" but just how Trent said it sounded as it was goiug to be years before anything got recorded again or another show got put out.

Btw ,Thanks for recognizing my example, its quite true if you think about it, well if your a hardcore NIN fan that is.. winking smiley

No, you're not even close to "being like WAHHHH I WANNA KNOW"
You're just asking nicely "Does anyboyd know how long this break is going to last?"
And think about it, how would anyone know how long this break will be?

& Your example? It isn't true, it's incomprehensible shit, and the fact that you say it's true if you're a NIN hardcore fan makes you even more fucking stupid.

Either
- you don't understand sarcasm, or
- you understand sarcasm, employed it yourself, meaning that you actually do believe your example is valid.

If it's the second case, than you're not a "hardcore fan", you're simply a dick.

This is probably gonna sound a little emo and pussified. But what the fuck.
Trent, I was having issues in my life when Pretty Hate Machine hit the shelves. It was so vastly different than anything I have ever heard, to this day. The music and the lyrics sang to a large part of who I was at the time, the period in your life when you realize that the world isn't your friend and that you can't expect to always take the cheerleader home like they do on the sitcoms where everything is always wonderful thirty mindless minutes later. Nine Inch Nails was friend over the airwaves, singing the same things I was feeling. As the years went on, Life changed. Trent took a break and came back singing (or yelling) more to what I belived than ever before. The music evolved to encompass something that I believed in more than I did in my youth. It was amazing. NIN was able to come back and still maintain a section of my life. Music has always been a part of me, and NIN has, since day one, been music that I can help define myself by. I will miss having an unseen friend whenever I need him. Farewell Trent, may it all be happiness for you.

Very nicely put, a message from the heart. Trent has had a similar effect on a lot of people, many many people can relate to him and his music. It's really nice to know we've got a friend out there. I have a sneaking suspicion that Mr. Reznor won't be able to stay "away" for too long. I just have the feeling that one day he might tour again and of course, music is his life, he'll always make music. I look forward to that day.
