Didn't download the FLAC file myself, but someone said that Dave Grohl was mentioned within the credits for Non-Entity. Any other tidbits as to who else is playing, I'm assuming it's just Trent?

Cool to hear these as they were originally meant to be anyway, cheers peeps. Hope that Sonisphere realise soon they're not going to sell out on weekend tickets alone and start selling days so I can see Trent, Cantrell and Hetfield on the same day!

PS - the JA stuff, I've heard Ritual and Nothings Shocking, so not familiar with these two, though they are both pretty good (!) - are these two songs re-workings of old songs, and therefore a product of Trents recent sessions with them?

Street Sweeper - not bad, but preferred Audioslave and Rage, obv.

Whores - the main riff and vocal line is Dirty Movies from Van Halens Fair Warning, to a tee!

Cool EP. I see Trent's as OCD about releasing his music as his fans are about collecting it. Much appreciated. I think I will burn these two tracks on a Slip CD for the car. Sounds like they'll fit, sonically.

Can't wait to get to San Diego. I already know I'll love NIN live, these recordings of Jane's are reaffirming what I've always suspected about their shows - sounds as good as the live tracks on Kettle Whistle.

Just to let you guys know, these aren't really "the studio versions" of "Non-Entity" and "Not So Pretty Now". They're rehearsal cuts for the 2009 tour, made in 2009. Done in studio.

Basically.
Live versions, without any audience sounds in the background.

As heard live.

There's a good chance that no "album versions" or true legit original "studio versions" of these songs were ever made at all. Demos maybe, but they'll probably remain scrapped and unreleased for quite some time, and may actually never be released.

The originals were made back in 2005/2006. These clearly say "2009." Which means these aren't THE (original) studio versions. Just rehearsal versions that were RECENTLY done in studio.

Wrong.

DAMN. Reminds me of Trent talking about how sometimes people embarrass themselves so badly that YOU feel uncomfortable. And I kinda do, I mean SHEESH, I feel the burn from way over here in Nebraska.

Okay, the one thing keeping this thing from being fucking perfect is that it doesn't have Home.

Moron, it just says 2009 because the EP was released in 2009. Use your head before you type something stupid.

Exactly what I'm saying! It's funny because he just said "WRONG", but it still stings since it's Reznor we're talking about anyways. Heh. smiling smiley

Fucking stoked!!!

Honestly, Non-Entity sounds a lot different in the studio than I thought it would. Still love it though. Wasn't really in to NSPN before, but this version is freaking awesome.

Trent, you fucking rule! Thanks man.

Hell yeah! I hope this means I'll be hearing one or both of them when I go see them in Kansas City.

I remember reading on NINWiki that Trent said those WT b-side tracks might one day surface, I just didn't imagine that day would actually come. grinning smiley

Awesome.

Oh, and the studio version of "Whores" is pretty good too. I'm only gotten into JA recently, but from what I understand prior to this it was only available as a live track off their self-titled live album.

As for the tour Im probably gonna have to get the 1991 promo because for 1 my parents are cheap like that, and 2 i have the money for the loge but my parents get mad if i buy them.

Anyone know why its 1991?

I'm not sure what 1991 is..are you saying this as a price $19.91? My guess since I have no clue where you live is that has something to do with a radio station.

Just drank a few hard ciders so I figured I would try to answer this random question...am I close?

Listening to "Non-Entity" and having watched it live on BYIT-it felt pretty obvious that it was not from a rehearsal. The main riff is played on guitars on the live version-this one uses a synth line-if it sounds kind of rough, it's probably because it didn't make it to the "polishing" stage when it was dropped from the album-or maybe it just sounds a bit off because I'm used to the BYIT/ReAct Now/Sefiros versions of it.

03/20/09 9:13 PM

Just wondering...does anyone know who the actual headliner is? NIN or JA? I know this is a "co-headline", but who is the band that will be finishing off the show? NIN I hope!!!!????

03/20/09 10:26 PM

Wow, I was hoping he'd let these two puppies see daylight one day! I was a little surprised that Non-Entity was in a higher key than it is live, but pleasantly so. Both of these are awesome and I'm glad we finally have the studio cuts - I was worried that perhaps Interscope might own them and that we'd never get to hear them.

Onward - Street Sweeper is DOPE! I'm definitely stoked about seeing them open now; those two tracks are great and I want more.

Yeah... just like that one time someone said the bass line in one of the Nine Inch Nails songs sounded like one from a KMFDM song and he started his reply to that with "You: Go fuck yourself. Now." He always has the best comebacks ever.

I just wanted to express my disappointment with the accuracy of the ticket sale dates. I have been a dedicated Nine Inch Nails fan for the last 15 years. I have been to at least 7 shows. I was very sad to hear that this upcoming tour would be my last chance to see them. I'm from Philly, and would normally go to the Camden show. Unfortunately, my sister is getting married that weekend, and I will be away. So, my only chance to catch the tour was in Columbia, MD. I couldn't take advantage of the Presale, because I needed 4 tickets. So, going by this website, I planned on purchasing tickets as soon as they went on sale this Saturday, the 21st, so I could be sure and get the best seats possible. To my dismay, I checked on Ticketmaster tonight (3/20) to see what time they went on sale only to find that they went on sale this morning at 10 am. I was able to secure tickets, but not in a section I would have liked. The worst part is that I was sitting at my computer this morning, and could have purchased them.

Don't get me wrong, I am very appreciative of everything that NIN has done for me over the years. This was just an added saddness to a tour that already has me bummed.

I think we ALL have a story like that. But its not Trent's fault.. its not like he personally set out to disappoint you.
Be happy you even got tickets. That should be good enough.

You drank a few hard ciders too much, and I've drank a few beers too much...in any case, he was referring to 1991 (the year). Which was my freshman year of college (and the best year of my life)...Jane's was quite popular.

Story from 1991: I was an engineering student at a university where the male to female ratio was 5:1. I was friends with a comp sci/art major from the state college down the road and he invited me to a party. All the other enginerds found out and followed against my wishes, because the state college had chicks, so the party would have chicks...I got to the party and opened the door and

Every dude at the party was wearing a dress, with makeup, and Jane's was blasting...the enginerds wouldn't walk through the door they were so scared. I went in and nobody would talk to me because I was an engineering major (AKA THE MAN)...but the point is, that's why Jane's is on this tour, because they rocked...and "Whores" is like a time capsule back to 1991 (the year) and that's pretty damn cool. cool smiley
