I'm hopeless at the twitter contests - I'm hoping for stunts like driving in Chicago rush-hour or Latin translation or deadly activities like that.

I think my husband could win a rush-hour contest in Chicago, being the road geek he is - so hell yeah! Make it happen! grinning smiley

Well, I missed yesterdays contest because of some VERY unfortunate new to myself.....I was in the ER until 4 am and was diagnosed with Bells Palsy.

Basically it's a virale infection of the nervouse system that paralizes the right side of your face...I can't blink my right eye, eat/drink properly, show expression on my right side ETC.....really fuckin sucks. It can last from a month to over a year!! Hopefully I can get the short end of the stick on this one.....anyway, somewhat of a sidetrack for me, but I'm still gonna try to win this thing....and now I guess I can freak TR out if I get a chance to ask him a few questions lol.

Get well soon! Do you have to go for some kind of therapy, or is it just the waiting?

I am so sorry to hear that. I've heard of Bells Palsy, but I had no idea it was contagious. Is there anything you can do or take to make it go away faster? Here's hoping you have a speedy recovery.

It's not contagious.....and I am taking prednizone for a week to try and calm the virale infection in the nervouse system. I've heard of people having to go through therapy for their face (it only affects the face, not the body)...but I'm hoping I wont need to.

Thanks for the kind words BTW...I'm strong like bull and plan on it winking smiley

Okay, I assumed it was contagious because it was viral. I've never taken prednizone, but I know a couple of people that have. It can make you a little on the mean side, so just be careful not to beat anyone up.

05/16/09 2:56 PM

Well don't piss me off and we wont have any problems OK?!?!?!??!

Just kidding...yeah, I've taken Prednizone for other stuff and hate it. Besides making you edgey, it can make you bloat and break out...good thing is, I'm only on it for a week.

Now...LET'S GET THIS CONTEST GOING!!!

We wish.

Have the @ericavery and @davenavarro6767 contests been pointed out? They're doing it on Twitter too, but it's only for tickets to whichever show is playing that night and no passes.

They are doing blood work on me now...in two days we will find out if Lyme disease was the cause. I do sleep with my two dogs but I check them for ticks and I haven't seen any rash or bites on me...but who knows.

PJ, take care of yourself. I have a very close friend who was diagnosed with BP over 20 years ago. His doctor at the time told him it had probably been in his system for years. In his case it seemed to be triggered by his hefty use of alcohol and various other drugs at the time, IOW, he stressed the hell out of his body and his immune system wasn't repressing it any more.

He's had a few flareups over time, usually stress or random illness-related.

So be good and do what your doctor says, and take extra care of yourself. You should be fine. Soon, I hope!
