woah I come back here a day later and my post with Trents picture from the Revolting Cocks is gone. So I get reported because Im trying to tell a violent douchebag on here threatening people to shut up?
wierd.
Anyway, someone asked about Henry Fonda venue.
This venue is in the more eastern side of Hollywood right on Hollywood Blvd cross street Gower (I work at Sunset and Gower). I know this venue well. They have a balcony and a cool outdoor part on the roof that you used to be able to go up to, but fire code now only allows them to sell tickets to specifically the balcony (and roof) or just the floor. Its a big floor with a step that goes along the back. Good for standing on if youre somewhat short or just want to get in the back where its more calm. The bar is up on the step in the center and faces the stage. Sound in this place is not the best. Often "boomy" or very reverberant. I record shows with a minidisk some decent mics and this place alwasy turns out crappy reverberant recordings compared to some other indoor venues of this size. But its ok I guess. Better than the Palladium in my opinion.
It is certainly a place where a lot of semi popular bands play now.
security is tight. They wand everyone and search pretty well in purses and such. Some of this depends on the artist but in general, they are pretty tight. The Echoplex is the only place security is more lax of the LA dates, but then since its been remodeled, I dont know if that changed.
Amazing all the people with anger issues here. Kind of scary that something like this upsets people so much. Ive lost out on MANY presales due to demand. Doesnt make me want to hurt people.
And for the record regarding the "waiting cue"......I dont claim to know how it works, but I had 2 laptops and a roommate trying for tix and I had 2 windows that entered that cue window about 2:15PM Pacific Time. My girlfriend in Philly was already into the show list page after the cue, so she didnt have to wait in it - she was getting tix to LA too. But I do NOT believe you really had to be in that cue page before a few minutes to 5. Because as I said, I had 2 windows in that cue page for hours. Then at about 4:40, I opened more windows on each laptop. Around 4:50, All the windows started refreshing to errors - meaning couldnt access the page anymore. I had to manually refresh ALL of them to get back to the cue - remember the cue page said DONT MANUALLY refresh or you will lose your place in line. All my pages went back in teh cue. Then about 2 minutes to 5, a couple pages reached the tour show list page but they just said "ticket info" next to the shows - as opposed to at 5PM where they say "buy tickets". The windows I had open since 2:15PM were actually the LAST windows to reach the next page with the show dates.
So I really dont think it mattered if you were on that cue page from 2PM, 4pm, or 4:45PM. All my windows went to the show date page at or seconds after 5PM. Didnt matter what window was opened longer.
Having to suddenly log in I was not prepared for - but I still got tickets.
The simple fact is, presales are ALWAYS like this with high demand. And there is more demand than tickets. Some people are NOT going to get in. Its frustrating, but the sense of entitlement on here is always so amazing. The level of anger on here from people that dont get in is scary.
These are just concert tickets. What happens when BIGGER things dont go your way - do you start shooting people? We certainly see in our lives that some people do.
frightening.
and PS, Everyone should stop their bitching but the people that GOT Echoplex tickets through the presale, should NEVER be on here bitching about ANYTHING again.
