He can't play everywhere. There have been plenty of opportunities to see them in other cities including Atlanta or near Atlanta over the past 4 years.

In total agreement with ya on this. He would be insane to play anywhere in the Middle East. I am merely grateful for all of the opportunities in which I have been able to attend a NIN concert including the very first Lollapalooza tour back in '91, Downward Spiral tour in '94, 3 times on the With Teeth tour ('05-'06), twice on the Lights In The Sky tour (Atlanta and Halloween last year in Nashville) and on May 10th at Lakewood here in Atlanta.

I'm not the first bit opposed to a road trip. I drove 7 hours with my best friend to New Orleans in 2001 to see Nick Cave (without the Bad Seeds) at the Orpheum Theater. I flew to Washington DC in 1999 to see the Pretenders at the 9:30 Club. So it's definitely not the end of the world if Trent doesn't come back to Atlanta ever again. Let's first see what happens on 12/22/12...(just kidding) smiling smiley

unfortunately I never got to see self destruction tour sad smiley But that era is the biggest influence on most of my current creative way of thinking... too bad I was only 4! lol

EDIT: If I had the money to fly to LA to see them, I would! either that or New York because Ive always wanted to visit both places! too bad I dont have the money lol

i'm going to try and make all shows...

I'm probably going to try to save up enough money to buy a ticket to the Chicago show and then see if I can get transportation arrangements of some sort. If there's anyone reading this thread who'll be passing through the Ames area on their way to the Chicago show maybe PM me.

Just watch though some IA dates (well, probably just one-preferably central IA, LitS already covered the East and West) will be announced shortly after I buy a ticket for the Chicago show. lol

Seriously, though Trent you need to do something in IA to make up for the fact that you didn't follow up on your "promise" for an all-Iowa tour. :p

I know it was likely a joke, but you should have at least one more show in your most under-visited state before you go on hiatus/retire.

Redfox42, I hear you, but with respect to the UK getting predictable setlists, think yourself lucky you are getting that setlist! I saw them in Aus earlier this year, and they had just formed with Ilan, he was new to the band so they only had about 22 songs they could play, granted there were some oldies (Downward Spiral, Dead Souls, The Fragile etc) but I would've liked to have seen the range that you guys will get.

To the people complaining about the apparent bitching at Trent, we fucking love Trent, like we could be mad at him! We'd just like to be in on this special club tour, who the fuck wouldn't! I live in Australia, am a uni student so what chance do I have of seeing any of this? That's why I wish he'd come back to Australia, but I know he won't..this time..I'm just hoping Trent doesn't end NIN prematurely, from my point of view NIN have remained pretty damn consistent and likely still have much to give..(Year Zero pt2 and Ghosts V-VIII)

Joan Cootes, Re: coming back to Sydney, he definitely said he'd be coming back to Sydney at the end of the Soundwave Festival, I was so excited when he said it! So that leads me to believe, at that time, he hadn't planned to end NIN, maybe things have changed since? but yeah, he could've meant the Horden 2 days later, but the vibe was that he was coming back next time he tours..cause he said something like we are going away for a while, but we'll be back =)

..for the record too, the Soundwave show was better than the Horden one in my opinion..it had the killer opening as seen on NIN.com ..the custom distortion leading into 1,000,000 , plus it was out doors! Fuck the Horden was hot..I had to leave my awesome spot down the front during the power-outage to get some water, then 40mins later when it resumed I was way down the back, and people were just standing around..WTF!!! this was NIN!!! People should've been going apeshit! -end rant.

Powhaten and Maryelle-I miss you, but this is why I stay away from here lately-jiminy!!

Sad to hear NIN is coming to an end. I've been a fan since the beginning back in High School. Saw you in Grand Rapids last November- totally awesome. Can you make it down to Florida, please?

so let me get this straight. You play 2/3 tours in a row in the US, including the LITS shows, then you only play TWO dates in the UK and you head off back to the US to give them EVEN MORE shows... so what happens with ours that we're playing £30 a ticket for? just a crap atmosphere that you havent really liked in the other NIN|JA shows, or are the UK legs going to be a little bit special too? as you havennt been over here in nearly 3 years and america have had more than there fair share of dates... Im so goddamn sick of americans getting better treatment! What happens when your hardcore fanbase across the pond want a real show to say goodbye too? I tell you, as this thing goes on, I feel like we're getting more n more jipped, especially when I know EXACTLY whats going to be played as it hasnt really changed across EVERY OTHER SETLIST this tour.

well, you should've been at the shows in düsseldorf and berlin, those were long (2h), had a great atmosphere and felt pretty special and real. or you could wait how your shows will turn out to be instead bitching in advance.

and complaining that an american plays most of his shows in his home country, where he has also his biggest market...

They should call it the "Wave Your Wallet Goodbye Tour".

I would fucking love to see Red Lorry Yellow Lorry on one of their final reunion shows more recently but they didnt play in the US at all - just Europe. But was I all over their website saying "wah wah wah but I was your biggest fan in Los Angeles so I cant believe Im getting FUCKED over and youre not touring the states."
BTW, I NEVER got to see them live.

Love and rockets was a HUGE band for me. But I didnt get to see their last shows cause I worked a job I couldnt take off from. I missed them AGAIN at Coachella last year cause my job got in the way. But was I bitching saying "wah wah wah why couldnt they make Coachella a week later for me".

Love and Rockets AND Red Lorry Yellow Lorry - AWESOME taste - we should start a moan thread why Fields of the Nephilim NEVER play the USsmiling smiley

This thread regenerates itself every page! Can a mod please rename this thread "name the city that you think Trent owes a visit to, but doesn't stand a chance". For God's sake, he's adding a few small shows, not an entire second leg of the American tour. If you can't make it, buy the dvd that he's going to attempt to make of it, or sell your posessions and get your ass to a show.

um gottes willen.

i need to rob a bank, kidnap one of the hilton dummies or easily have a nephrectomy to make it to nyc.

i haven't seen him since düsseldorf and berlin last week. so i have to go to esch-zur-alzette tomorrow to sleep well the many nights after that.

but 3 concerts in one city, like i said before - it would be worth to sell a fuckin kidney !

07/08/09 5:41 PM

You guys who are vowing to hit all 3 NYC shows are giving me Tix anxiety! LOL!

I'm just hoping to score tix to ONE! *Now... off to see who want to buy a very tarnished and blackened soul*

No need for anxiety...they have to actually buy the tix before they can go to all 3.

Thank you dear, you should come over to "the other place"; it's not quite so bad over there. More logical thinking. Much less whining. It's not perfect but it'll do. xoxo

See THIS guy has the right idea! What's the matter with the rest of you?? ;-)

Oh wanted to add, for the England people bitching: there's a train that goes from London to Paris. Maybe you've heard of it? You could have seen NIN a couple of days ago in what was a FANTASTIC show by all accounts. Then you could have taken a short train ride to Amsterdam. And maybe to Luxembourg after that. I thought that was the beauty of Europe: it's easy to get everywhere within a few short hours. Not like here in the US where the train to the other side of the country takes 3 days.

Australia? There were JUST THERE! You're asking them to go to the other side of the world and tour a country as big as the US, AGAIN?! Jesus H. Christ!

Anyway this is going to drive me to drink, so I think I'll cut out now. Hope to see as many of you as possible there.

07/08/09 5:57 PM

I'm so fucking pumped for this! I'm definately going to hit one of these shows. I need to see Trent and the boys one more time! Now the wait starts for the new dates to be announced.
