09/03/09 12:21 AM

i've got this virus , or spam, at Twitter, with messages at my board like "get More followers, click on this link". anyone knows if i can do something about this?

09/03/09 9:22 AM

danny lohner just posted on his twitter: "calling all NIN types...anyone have a recent link to a live version of 'heresy'? i get my 'forgetful' on..."

arrrggghhhh i wish i can be there when this happens!

UPDATE

"false alarm-trent's sick RT @billyhowerdel: Prying @dannylohner's cold fingers from his comp keyboard and carrying him to play w/ nin tonite"

just noticed something jmj tweeted 633pm aug30
'PBS were fantastic in my opinion. Great production values,
sound, etc. Loved seeing some perplexed audience members
trying to process it.'
has anyone heard anything more about this? what they filmed,
for what program, when it's airing? sounds like it should
be good fun...

Guess who's back....

[twitter.com]

10/05/09 2:33 AM

i'm glad ^^^ i really enjoyed reading trents tweets.

10/05/09 10:26 AM

TR's twit acct is re-activated?

well, if you are one of those people who hated reading TR's personal tweets and got upset everytime he mentioned something of a life outside of NIN... and if you say things like "i don't wanna know what he's doing with his fiance or that he's happy now. i liked him better when i didn't know" then please do us all a favor and stop following him NOW.

don't ruin it for the rest of us again.

QFT, brother.

If it gets ruined I'm going to get medieval on peoples' asses.

10/05/09 2:15 PM

Came on to mention the sudden reexistance of a certain @trent_reznor. Guess I'm not the first to notice. Twitter fluke or something else?

10/05/09 2:30 PM

I would assume this is for real. It's a verified account. Can't believe TR would return to twitter after what happened before...But I can't say I'm not glad to see him back.

10/05/09 4:39 PM

I am glad Trent is back. I really enjoy his openess. I just hate the lashings from him when an asshole says shit.
If you have nothing nice to say then don't say it at all!

10/05/09 4:45 PM

I hope he'll stick to Tweeting about his work. I really don't want or need to know about his personal life.

Well this is an interesting turn of events. I'm glad to see him back, though, especially since I'm more into NIN's body of work now, I only started following him after I heard an album or two.

you could just follow Nine Inch Nails twitter if all you want is music related updates. Trent Reznor's personal twitter is ... well... personal. just like anybody else, he's gonna post things going on in his life. i for one enjoyed seeing him lower the veil and show us what's really going thru his mind.

he's back but hasn't posted so...who knows

Not everything that goes thru his mind needs to be posted. Otherwise it'll be a trainwreck like before.

if you don't like it, unfollow him. what's so difficult about it?

I can see AnnaDraconida's point, it does turn me off when people tweet a ratio of one interesting comment to twelve comments on what they ate for breakfast.

The problem is there's no real standard of reference, because Twitter works differently for different people-- some people can write whimsical little comments all day and it's charming, and some people you wish would just STFU about the sogginess quotient of their pancakes and talk about what's important. Granted, you can always unfollow someone, but sometimes I think it's just a matter of wishing that people would stick to their strengths instead of highlighting their weaknesses.

Anyway, I wasn't aware of TR's account the first time around, so this is nicesmiling smiley.

I was OK with what Trent tweeted - it was when he let the trolls get under his skin and responded that things went awry! Come on Trent, you can be the better man surely and ignore them?
EDIT - actually I did enjoy one response to trolls, I did really laugh when he sent 8 whole tweets of vitriol to that guy who wrote that blog, those tweets were really quite funny, I saw them in the morning and was guffawing all the way to work

just because you see something as a weakness doesn't mean everybody sees it as a weakness. and if i have the feeling somebody's tweeting too much "weak" stuff, i just unfollow.

again: what's so difficult about it?

I'm not really sure where this difficulty quotient comes into it.

it seems to be quite difficult for some people to unfollow someone even though they think that someone tweets too much about the wrong things. or why else is there so much discussion about how trent should tweet and how not?

Twitter is voyeurism at its best/worst, however you view it. Just because you don't follow someone, you think that will stop you reading what they say, but there is still that nagging curiosity - well I hate so and so but I'll just search to see what they've said recently, I can stop anytime I want to, honestly. Twitter can be quite addictive I think

Lots of posts over Trent reactivating his Twitter account. Imagine the endless possibilities once he actually starts posting stuff.

It's very likely that Trent re-activated his Twitter so people could see what he posted but he won't necessarily start posting to it again.

And keep in mind that it's his Twitter and he can post whatever he damn well pleases. If you don't like the lovesick smart-ass remarks, ignore them. Or don't follow him and stick to the @nineinchnails account instead.

Yes yes and YES. Jesus, being famous has to blow about five different kinds of cocks.

I am curious as to whether he's going to start updating again. I really doubt it, but you never know. I really enjoyed his tweets until people started harassing not so much him, but people he knew and started writing shit about what went on with Eric.
