the only problem i have with byit is the venue it was shot at. when i watch aatchb, somewhere on that dvd i am actually seeing footage from a show i attended. i like the fact that it doesnt actually say what footage is from what show, b/c it keeps you guessing, maybe i was at that one, or maybe it was this one, etc. but you know that if you went on that tour you are on the dvd somewhere, it makes the dvd special. you get a broad spectrum of what the tour was like, not just one show.
i really hope that the lits dvd is a compilation of many different venues. i like the idea that i am in the crowd somewhere on that dvd ya know? and what makes one venue better than another? what qualifies that show as being the one worthy of being made into a live dvd?...no two shows are the same, TR doesnt have a script that he reads at the show, he says different things to every crowd. the acoustics are different, the stage is different, some are indoor, some are outside. like i said,,, you get a better idea of what the tour was like when you watch a dvd cut with footage from several different shows, and not a dvd cut from one show.

thats also probably a lot more expensive

He says different things to every crowd?

Really because both AATCHB & BYIT don't feature much Trent talking to the crowd.

In fact all he says is fuck you,you fucking pigs, hey, motherfuckers, thank you! & a few coughs.

Neither DVD feature actual talking to the crowd.

Man "The Big Comedown" is the best it's ever been on the dvd. I don't get why people aren't into it. The tone and feedback Aaron gets is seriously incredible!

I have a special place in my heart for BYIT (1st NIN show was during that tour), and I made my sister watch it, since she's going to the G.R. show with me in November. It looks just as good now as it did the first time I watched it-- and I love Aaron North, ha.

I keep seeing people complaining about the BYIT DVD, and I don't get why. Keep in mind, I don't have AATCHB to compare (yet), but BYIT still seems pretty awesome to me. Can anybody shed some light?

that's news to me, i didn't know anybody was complaining about it.
i fell in love with it and i have both. love them both to pieces though they are very different.

It's shitty, but yeah.
AATCH>BYIT.

Just because of Aaron.

What, who's complaining? BYIT is awesome and even more awesome if you have BluRay. I watched BYIT Thursday and AATCHB on Friday and they are two totally different shows, ambiance, etc and I loved them both. I have to admit that I like the setlist more on BYIT and The Big Come Down is so amazing. My only complaint is that they play BYIT on the Music HD (now Palladia) and the sound is jacked on TV (Can't hear many guitar parts and vocals), plus they edit the cursing.

10/25/08 7:19 PM

The Big Comedown was poopy on BYIT. Jeordie should have played lead guitar for it.

10/26/08 3:30 AM

I just dislike the line up from that era, i love 'and all that could have been' but i think if we get a new DVD from the current tour, which i think we will, it will kick everythings ass!!

10/26/08 4:16 AM

my only complaint really is the amount of times TR says "Hey"

11/06/08 6:12 PM

It's amazing. I have seen many concert DVDs, but this one >>>>>>>>>>>>>> all. The visuals are stunning, the sound-PERFECT. I have to watch at least a part of it every day.

PS: I actually enjoy Aaron's craziness. smiling smiley

Whats up with the fact that on the discography feature, the artwork for some of the releases is just a 'nin' logo? And the fact that you can listen to music from some releases, but not others...that bugged me, but i'm sure theres a valid reason that i'm too naive to realise.

Other than that issue, the music sounded somewhat..'flat' to me..

For example, in Eraser, when it builds up and explodes into the 'crazier' section, it just lacks 'oomph'. As opposed to , say, the Echoplex rehearsal footage, after the "la la la la la la"'s and the full band comes back in, you feel a genuine 'oomph'.

Is all about the oomph factor baby. And All That Could Have Been had it. The Rehearsal Video's had it. Beside You In Time just doesn't have it.

Did some say AATCHB had better better stage visuals? Wow. BYIT fucking PWNED AATCHB in that department

Punch yourself (or if you're a wuss, ask someone else to punch you) in the gut in the right moments. There, you have your OOMPH!

Sorry if this has been posted already... but does anyone know if Beside You in Time has a hidden menu, or easter eggs in general like its predecessor And All That Could Have Been?

i was just wondering went trent himself told us to steal his music count for DVDs lol because i really cant get my hands on a copy of the BYIT dvd because as you all know the economy took a trip down shitty stream so would it really matter if i were to download it from a torrent site?

you just want to here your guys feedback because it feels wrong but at the same time i really want it.

12/07/08 3:50 PM

Hmm... just get it from Amazon. I wouldn't take advantage tongue sticking out smiley haha.

has anyone else downloaded torrents of nin?

12/07/08 4:11 PM

I want to rip it for my ipod lol but I'm lazy & probably wouldn't do it right (with chapters & all). Plus I can't rip my copy since it's BD. Whoever made that wonderful AATCHB iPod torrent should do this one.

12/07/08 4:17 PM

should i download it?

12/07/08 4:18 PM

I got it from Amazon too. 16.99 $ (the price I paid) is nothing for such a beautiful DVD.

I thought this was a BYIT discussion thread, but you just ask others if you should steal it or not... I really don't know what to say to that. Sure, Trent might've said it's OK to steal his stuff, but still, I feel better if I pay for it.

I got it at best buy for 7 bucks! I was like,"PWNAGE!!!"

I also got AATCHB, but that was like 30 bucks.

Which reminds me, I read somewhere that the AATCHB DVD comes with a note from Trent Reznor about the tour or something, but mine didn't come with it sad smiley. Did anyone get it?
