This was after my parents' friend's daughter recorded her copy of TDS on a tape for me. I technically wasn't allowed to listen to NIN so that tape was labeled as something else. I had heard of NIN before, but the only song I had heard was Discipline, and that was from Tap Tap XD. I actually bought those two about...2 months ago. And already, I'm a halo collector! So far I have 9 CDs, The Slip in digital, and copies of PHM and Broken from my friend's dad. Every Sunday I call CD Warehouse and ask them what NIN music they have, and if I don't have it, I usually go and buy it (if I have the money; I live off my allowance!). I remember liking TDS a lot when I first heard it, but I made the mistake of playing The Fragile as background music while doing other things! However, I later listened to it again, and it's now my favorite NIN album (TDS obviously being second). NIN ROCKS!!! Can't wait for them to go off hiatus!

hi13ts member Joined: 12/17/09 Posts: 63	I bought The Downward Spiral early 2009. I had been a Manson fan long before but I never got around to checking out NIN. Then I saw Johnny Cash's Hurt video on Youtube and followed that up with Trent's live Hurricane Benefit performance. The song stole my soul and it was time to catch up on NIN. TDS at first was ass weird for me, but I warmed up to it (with the help of And All That Could Have Been bought several weeks after). Now it's the only full album I have uploaded onto my MP3 player.

I bought PHM, TDS, Broken and Fixed all at the same time. OH! I also got Fixed because it was the sister album to Broken... I later realized I shoulda bought a different album cuz... Frankly... Fixed blows.... Sorry to say about a NIN album... But I can not even listen to it... Um... the year? About, 2007-08ish. Since then I have acquired MP3's of every single, demos, B-sides... Pretty much anything NIN i could get my grubby hands on i got and or am working on getting. You could say I'm a NINIAC lol. Oh I also got my gf into NIN so woot

Album"borrowed"/ taken from my older brother: Broken (on cassette) in 93 1st.Album purchased: Further Down the Spiral in 95 after hearing from my best friend that it gave him nightmares...IMO still one of the best/effective dark albums of all-time & my fav.NIN remix project

I heard We're In This Together, and then proceeded to badger all my friends about Nine Inch Nails. One of them played me March of the Pigs, and I was promptly amazed and went and bought The Fragile the next day.

I had heard "Head Like a Hole" on the radio but had no idea who the band was. One day a dude from middle school (which I was attending at the time) called and asked to hang out. Never hung out with him before but figured "what the hell?" So after we argued about where to meet we settled on my place of choice... the middle school (closed for summer vacation). When we got there, we found a black bag which had among other things: a pack of Marlboro lights, two sticks of gum and NIN Pretty Hate Machine. My friend new who they were and said he hated them (but he is a huge fan now) and I could have the tape. After smoking the horrible Marlboro lights we needed something to drink or something refreshing at least. So we opened the gum and found a hit of acid on each piece. We had both tripped before but we were TRIPPING in minutes from these hits. I popped PHM in a walkman and we both sat in the middle of the woods and tripped to some of the best music ever.
