Would it be ironic if the NINfluenza being spread turned out to be Swine flu?

It probably is or a similar strain. H1N1 hasn't even really begun to wreak havoc. When you have an illness like this it appears and makes a large group sick then disappears for a while so that it can build up resistance. Then it comes back with a motherfucking vengeance and kills a lot of people. This is how each plague and the Spanish flu worked. Because SARS was so lethal it was contained quicker. The swine flu is only starting! Thought I'd share this. Have a nice day! And lay off the antibiotics! These bugs just build up bigger resistances to them. That is why we have these "super bugs" today. smiling smiley

Myself and a friend just flew in on $1000 plane tickets from Alaska... Severely disappointed. Anyone official know if/when an announcement will be made about a possible reschedule?

Also, anyone know if Mew plans to play anywhere tonight?

I'm also hoping for a reschedule and not a cancellation, was at the Palladium last night but I LOVE the Fonda and it was to be my las NIN show.

Sadly Mew isn't scheduling another show in LA tonight, they hit the road for SF early instead.

Sorry to hear this. Hope you get to feeling better.

Well it's good that Trent is only a few miles away from home. I'm sorry for those of you that miss the show & I know Trent will be much better soon!

Amazing show at the Palladium. Had no idea he was sick, based on an incredible performance. Get well, Trent!

09/03/09 10:20 AM

I am so sorry, Trent, I hope you feel better soon. I am in awe of you because you still went on with several shows no matter how awful you felt. The usual reaction to being sick is calling off work, your work just happens to be putting on kick ass perfomances, among other things.

I have been sick for 3 weeks now, last week I lost my voice for almost a week and I still don't have it back fully, this has never happend to me before. I am still dragging my feet.

My husband and I are flying into LAX tommorrow from Colorado and if Wiltern gets cancelled, I think we can still do other things in LA. This is the first time in our almost 13 years of marriage we will go on a mini vacation without the kids. My husband and I have been fans since 1990. Our 12 year old son is a NIN fan and he came with us to NINJA in Englewood. I am so glad he got to attend one of your shows.

How about playing some Ghost selections and make sure the air condition is fully functioning? JK smiling smiley Sending you virtual get well flowers, Trent! We love you!

Trent, I'm so sorry that you're that sick and I hope that resting for the next two days gets you healthy again. I'm sure you hated canceling one of the last shows you're going to do for a long time.

It seems like everybody I've bought tickets for this year has been having health issues: first Dave Gahan's multitude of problems, then the Beasties had to cancel because of MCA's cancer, and now Trent.

I feel lucky that I got to see a once-in-a-lifetime show last night and I hope Trent gets better in time for the weekend shows. I was going nuts when I heard the first notes of "Mr Self Destruct" because I felt pretty certain that we would get to hear the entire "Downward Spiral". To have Gary Numan there on top of hearing my favorite NIN album from start to finish completely blew my mind. Gary sounded and looked great and as a "Mighty Boosh" fan I couldn't have asked for a better guest appearance.

THANK YOU TRENT!!!!

I'll send my home made chicken noodle soup recipe your way, but you don't read your PM's or have a Twitter acct anymore.

get well trent
though i feel really bad for those who only had tickets to this show.
and the ones in line already? the ones flying in?
there are going to be a lot of pissed off people.

i was lucky enough to get Wiltern tickets, and now that show is going to be completely insane!!! fuck

haha i've got ninfluenza from the NYC terminal 5 shows. i'm just getting over it now.. blegh.

Yep, I had ninfluenza too! lol. I guess that's what happens when you are in a pit with a buncha sweaty people when the flu is on the loose! Feel better, Trent!!! And anyone else in the band who is feeling a bit crappy.. I know Ilan wasn't feeling great either.

Well I WAS planning on going to the show at the Henry Fonda tonight and am very disappointed to have heard about the cancellation. Can't there be a reschedule date or something rather than getting reimbursed? That way it can become the last show. - In any case i hope you get better soon.

09/03/09 10:48 AM

i'm sorry for those who have tickets for tonight's show.

Get well Trent, take your time and rest. I can't believe you managed to put the 3 shows feeling sick.

Love & Peace.

09/03/09 10:48 AM

get well soon trent; your health is first before anything.

This is exactly what I am thinking. God I am so...Just upset. I mean I know shit happens. I hope he gets well but wtf. Last few shows. How about a rescheduling them, no reimbursed.

09/03/09 10:50 AM

I hope you get to feeling better soon Trent!!!! We love you!!

09/03/09 10:56 AM

Get well very soon, Trent.

Now, I wonder when we'll know if this is going to affect the other two shows? Specifically, The Wiltern for me, which is the more in-danger of the two remaining shows.

09/03/09 12:01 PM

It seems like everyone is coming down with NINfluenza, my brother and I saw the Terminal 5 show on 8/25 and we're still sick. I hope everyone who is sick gets better soon.

09/03/09 11:02 AM

STILL SICK?

Trent...please get better. We all believe in you.

09/03/09 11:04 AM

Now I suddenly dont feel so bad about not getting tickets to this show, hope you feel well soon Trent. Thank you for the 1 time I got to see you, best concert of my life.

And to everyone complaining that the show probably will be reimbursed rather then rescheduled, get over it, the man is sick, why would you want him risking himself more by putting on another show at a later date prolonging his recovery. He has been yelling for 20 years, let him rest.

09/03/09 11:06 AM

Truth be told, for those who had to, say, fly or drive out, and are already there, a rescheduling would actually be a bit more unfair, in a way, than a reimbursement. Plane tickets and drives out are expensive things, and to reschedule is just asking to not only re-open a schedule you've probably very carefully looked at, but also spending all that extra money to get there, again.

09/03/09 11:09 AM

Get well Trent, I saw you last night and you did not disappoint.

09/03/09 11:10 AM

I have a ticket for the Fonda show, but I've also been that sick (as Trent is right now). Good health trumps all. Get well, you know every good NIN fan on this board loves you.

09/03/09 12:10 PM

hope you feel and get better Trent,

09/03/09 11:15 AM

I had tickets for tonight's show, I live in Portland, Ore. and extended a trip where I've been out of town for a week in Nashville, Tenn. to come to LA to see tonight's show. It sucks, but Trent's sick and that settles it. At least I've got friends and a client down here, and part of my flight/rental car is a tax write-off. I'm sure someone else is more put-out. A rescheduling would be fine by me, so long as it was far enough out that I could easily make ticket / housesitter arrangements to come back down, but quite honestly traveling is a huge pain in the ass, and that'd be really awkward from the point of "oh the last show was at the Echoplex, except for the one that was rescheduled for the middle of October". So instead I will spend tonight having some quiet drinks with friends and at least be thankful for my health.

Get well Trent!

Thanks for playing last night even if you were a sickie! Sad there is no Fonda, but would be sadder if you hurt yourself overdoing it.
