We're very sorry to announce that Trent is ill, and on his doctor's orders we will not be able to perform tonight's show at the Henry Fonda Theater. This is the only information we have at this time, we're posting this early announcement as a convenience for those of you who had plans to attend. Reimbursement details will be posted as soon as we figure them out; likely within the next 24 hours. We wish this wasn't necessary and we're very sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.

Who's Trent?

You better not be joking.....

She is from Michigan..... what did you expect?

OK, no picking on Michigan people. Detroit fans are some of the most hardcore rock fans EVER, not to mention NIN fans! L8z spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

I wonder if the reschedule announcement was unilaterally posted by the Theatre to avoid inquiries or at NIN's direction. It seems like NIN would separately post on the site or forums.

Hopefully the Fonda is a little more experienced at handling cancellations than that.

I spoke with a friend at Goldenvoice briefly last night when the announcement first went out and he said there was definitely a chance of rescheduling. Usually what we (concert promoters) do in this case is take a look at the artist and venue schedule and see if we can feasibly work something out. The Fonda does have a pretty busy schedule usually so it may be a little bit before they could squeeze the show in, plus we, of course, want Trent to be healthy before he performs.

Normally when a show is for sure canceled, ticket buyers get info from the venue or the ticket broker from which they purchased tickets. I don't know about you guys, but I've yet to receive anything from them regarding tonight's canceled show. I'm sure once things are finalized they'll send something out. Hopefully that won't be too long!

Can you get swine flu from listening to March of the Pigs?

[goldenvoice.com]

Goldenvoice website also says "postponed"

09/03/09 4:05 PM

passed the henry fonda on my way home about 30 mins ago and the marquee reads something to the tune of: "feel better trent! nin cancelled, reschedule soon"

not the exact wording, but it definitely mentioned a rescheduling!

HOLY SHIT... here's the BIG word on rescheduling!! No word on when....

Best news I've heard all day!!!!!

I totally feel for those who flew in to LA for the show tonight and this would've been their last NIN show but a reschedule is what the majority of ticket holders want. Whomever can't make it gets a refund and those tix go back into the system on nin.com. No name changes necessary, no b.s. Everyone who still can go doesn't ask for a refund and they attend the show. I can't imagine this would be a difficult process considering they have everyone's information who purchased tickets and they have time to do it while Trent get's well.

Feel better soon TR!

Here's hoping for a reschedule, but health always comes first. Feel better, Trent!

sorry for the whole "NIN" family, everyone!!! all the shows i have seen of yours, thru all the years, EVERY FUKKIN' ONE has been "mind blowing, one of a kind, awesome, professional shows" i have had the fortune of witnessing/experiencing in person,...was DEFINITELY making both shows @the arragon, again, AWESOME shows, was second-row rail, between you and jmj, on sat. nite, (1st time railer!!!), OMFG, you and the band played w/ such passion and energy, (who would've guessed later 'bout the illness???) felt the vibe from the music, and felt the emotions it elicited from us, your fans/ extended family!!! truly, an amazing moment (again), your fans love and admire and respect and care for you, because, after all these, uhm, "75" years, YOU have genuinely cared about us!!!! thank you!!! needless to say, it fukkin' sux being sick, to all of the NIN family, and for those who were going tonite??? trent will make sure it is made up to you and your guest, something unique and special for the "fonda" people,...get well soon everyone, and, to those of us not sick yet, knock on wood, huh???

09/03/09 4:54 PM

Hey Trent - Get well soon. Look on the bright side - you have your honey to take care of you!!

09/03/09 5:54 PM

that youtube video was pretty funny. really reflects my mood right now.

about the rescheduling: i think i need something a little more concrete than what the music box marquee says. i know they're a little more "in the know" than any of us are but still. until i hear or read it from the horses mouth... yadda yadda yadda.

To people talking about the swine flu. There is no big swine flu epidemic in LA. Please do not start rumors.

Do you work for the CDC? Nobody said anything about an epidemic in LA. If one person with H1N1 goes into a crowded pit at a concert you can bet your ass a lot will catch it. Doesn't mean it is an epidemic. I suggest you learn what epidemic and pandemic means. This never even started in LA and nobody said it did. Jeez..eye rolling smiley

Also, this is the reason I think it is insane to come half way around the world for a concert. Anyone complaining about how far they travelled should shut it. YOU chose to travel. You have to expect this sort of thing could happen.

Get well soon, Trent.

I saw you guys back in November in Council Bluffs, Iowa; what an amazing show. I feel bad for those fans who won't be able to see you live. I supposed a refund is the least you could do, but it doesn't feel like enough.

Nonetheless, I hope you start feeling better, Trent.

Boy can you imagine the scrutiny the ticketing policy would get if they did reschedule this show a week later?

Several hundred people who couldn't attend, but couldn't sell their tickets?

They basically had to cancel, thus exposing a serious flaw in paperless tickets / in-house ticketing.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The paperless ticketing gets great seats at great prices to the fans. It's great. I have never been able to get the seats I have gotten this way to any concert here in LA unless I over paid some asshole for them. With all the fires burning out here it could as easily been canceled for that. Everyone knows there are no 100% guarantees. This is not the first time a concert has been canceled and it wont be the last It only one small venue. Most of us will work it into our schedule some how because we are die hard fans.

You sound like a bitter scalper to me!

Wow, that sucks, i hope you feel better soon, Trent! I wasn't at the other shows, but it sounds like you have worked your ass off even though you were sick, so thank you so much for that! Good luck to Trent and all the others who had tickets for that show.

09/03/09 6:01 PM

GET WELL SOON SORRY FOR EVERYONE WHO HAD PLANS TO ATTEND THE SHOW..I AM GLAD I WAS ABLE TO ATTEND THE CHICAGO SHOW 8/28..I ENJOYED THE SHOW THE BEST LIVE CONCERT

09/03/09 6:23 PM

My sincere empathy goes out to anyone who was planning on seeing this show. I know if I had tickets and then found out the show was cancelled, I'd be crushed. But it's also understandable, I don't think Trent would cancel a show unless he REALLY needed to.

Get well soon, Trent.

@anthmikev - Generally, when a show is rescheduled, there is an option to get a refund, in case you can't make the new date or any other reason.

There are several people posting that its the swine flu. All I am saying is there is no reason to be saying that he's got the swine flu. One girl seemed REALLY freaked out about it. There is no reason to freak out over the swine flu because of a cancelled concert.

You are right that if someone goes to a show with swine flu and jumps in the pit, a lot of people are going to catch it. That has nothing to do with Trent being sick. I'm not about to worry about that or else I would never go out.

Yesterday was really awesome it was so great that i almost collapsed of dehydration and hyperventilation but hey it was all worth it..through the sweat and the blood hahaha..but im glad i got to see them once
