An album truly ahead of it's time, underrated in all aspects, NIN - The Fragile will have it's 10th anniversery this month! TRENT CAN YOU PLEASE REISSUE THIS ON VINYL LIKE YOU DID DOWNWARD SPIRAL? You would make lots of audiophiles like myself VERY, VERY HAPPY.

mod edit: title spelling.

Hard to believe it's been ten years. Great album.

Not sure if it needs an upgrade though...sounds fine to me.

10 years ago today on the MTV video music awards. The big return with "The Fragile". One of the best.

Leave it alone...re-issue is one thing, but I don't think The Fragile needs anything else. I wish there was another album like it...my favorite.

I recently bought both Downward Spiral releases commemorating the 10 year anniversary [dualdisc and deluxe edition].

I don't think I'd like add-ons, but some sort of commemorative release would be the shit.

I'd like to have the vinyl-only tracks (The New Flesh, 10 Miles High) added on.

But anyways, happy birthday to The Fragile!

I don't really like having remixes and/or demos added to the album (unless they're on a separate disc). They just ruin the album. The only bonus track I would like to see would be And All That Could Have Been at the end of the Right disc. I would, however, like to see a bonus DVD.

Bonus DVD material:
The entire Big Day Out performance in 2000

Music Videos:
The Day The World Went Away
Into The Void
We're In This Together
Starfuckers, Inc

possibly the unreleased ORIGINAL TDTWWA video as a bonus bonus.

I dig this idea.

It won't be re-released like TDS 'cause TDS was a huge hit, while The Fragile tanked. Plus Interscope owns its ass, and they aren't exactly on good terms with Trent, so we won't get any special editions of any Interscope-era release.

Still the best album, by any artist, EVER. So yeah, Happy Birthday to The Fragile!!!

Good call. Fuck, I hadn't thought of that.

My fantasy:
Tonight 9/9/09
Surprise Show to some lucky tweeted fans
Entire Album played front to back.

One can dream right?

Happy Anniversary to my favorite album of all time!
don't know where I'd be without it.

The Fragile...GREAT album....

The Fragile is and always will be my favorite album. I remember like it was yesterday going at midnight the day it was released and buying it, then coming home and playing it nonstop until the following morning. Also remember the goosebumps the first time I heard TDTWWA, same ones I get every time I hear it.

And I remember watching the performance on MTV. I flew into Tampa on 9/9/99 to take the forensic pathology boards the following day. The hotel was filled with stressed out psychotic doctors cramming for that test and I had the biggest mother fucking migraine of my lifetime. I swear watching that performance broke that migraine!

And I definitely share your fantasy, nin_historian.

i loved TDS but preferred the fragile as an overall body of work. it mightn't have been as popular as TDS but i certainly think it deserves a bit of the 10th anniversary treatment. it was immersive, epic and hugely inspirational (for me anyway) and it still sounds as fresh and relevant now as it did back then. a nice dvd audio mixed in surround with a bonus disc of goodies would be nice.

happy birthday the fragile! i love you!

10 years already? Well fuck.

I feel old.

09/09/09 4:43 PM

My favorite album--have some personal attachments to it physically and emotionally.

I would love to hear this album in it's entirety tomorrow night as it's commemorative. If not that, then maybe hearing some blocks of it would be nice.

I think trent should release this vinyl. with out a doubt. at least on the online site. just make some. like 20 for the people on this thread. ill be satisfied.

I remember standing in line at midnight of release.. had to compete with all the Tori Amos fans that night waiting for her release too on the "midnight madness" sale.

Didn't Trent say in a Q&A with fans that he was working in a 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition? He said that he would like it to be released this year but that it will probably be released next year.

I would like that it had songs like "Deep", "The New Flesh", "10 Miles High", "Appendage", "Metal", "Slipping Away", etc, in a separated disc like "TDS DE". And a DVD with a few extras would be cool too (WITT, ITV and SF videos, etc).

Showed up late for class so I could stop at hmv to pick it up. then used my 2 hour break to sit down in the lounge and listen to both discs. Then went to my afternoon class happy as hell.

I remember watching NIN perform "The Fragile" at the '99 MTV VMAs which I think was the same day The Fragile came out. I was only 10 at the time and didn't really like the performance. Oh, how much I've learned since then...

The greatest Nine Inch Nails album definitely does deserve to be re-issued, or at least recognized again.

09/09/09 8:51 PM

Happy fucking 10th anniversary!
It could be cool a new version, but I think is really hard that happen...

I posted a topic on this earlier ... [forum.nin.com]
Anyways, it's amazing how fast 10yrs fly by!! I remember watching the performance on MTV and was soo excited! A few weeks later The Fragile album was released to the public. One of my all time favorites.
