I'd like to use my case for having a plan B.

I had enough notice (24 hours) to try and pull something together. I ended up organizing a meet-up at a pizza place close to the venue followed by a trip to a goth/bondage club. Sure, it wasn't a NIN show but the club played NIN and we conversed and had fun.

If you find yourself in this sort of situation, try to make the most of it. Go check out a museum, a sporting event, or see what other concerts are in town. Maybe do some sight-seeing. Whatever it is, have something else in mind in the event of a postponement like this.

Oh, and demanding that Trent refund you for your travel and lodging expenses is beyond selfish.

Hey circuitry6, would you like some cheese to go with that whine?

Man, if this would have been posted half an hour earlier I could have just stayed in LA. Now I'm looking at $600 in plane tickets to return for the Fonda show. FUCK

A group of us had the same issue with the Worchester, MA show. You make the most of it. Swim in the hotel pool. Bum around the area. Enjoy yourself. LA is huge and awesome. Go get a hotdog at Pinks. I think everyone has done that already though.

Do we really want to send Trent and NIN off, like THIS??

This is just so sad to me. This is their FAREWELL tour and instead of sending trent and the group off properly, we look like a bunch of whiny bitchy morons, kicking and screaming about a situation that Trent tried his best to mitigate.

This is the guy who records albums and gives them to us for FREE.
The guy who gives us an open camera and recording policy anytime its possible.
The guy who made sure his final shows ever were back in the US.
and who APOLOGIZES to US because he feels bad that his voice wasn't well enough to give us a PERFECT show.

And we return the favor by acting like a bunch of whiny fucking ingrates?? kicking and screaming that the EXTRA shows he went out of his way to add for his american fans got rearranged a LITTLE? He didn't HAVE to add the extra shows. He didn't even HAVE to reschedule the Fonda show. But he did it for us because he gives a shit and we should be thankful for that. In fact, he probably would have caught a lot less flack if he had just let the Fonda show stay canelled altogether, but because he has a conscience, he'e being greeted with our complete and utter ingratitude.

Yes.... we all know things didn't work out perfectly. Yes, things became difficult for some people. BUT SO THE FUCK WHAT? hasn't this guy done enough for us? I mean.... Can we have some fucking dignity here, suck it up a little, and SEND TRENT OFF PROPERLY??? and show him that we're a devoted and APPRECIATIVE fan base.... PLEASE. The last thing we need is to leave NIN with this shitty impression of us in their final moments.

(i just know some fucking whiner is going to reply to this trying to explain why their attitude is justified. its NOT. so dont even bother)

just for the record, i don't see this as sending trent off...it's been stated in numerous blogs and interviews that he will continue to make music and be a part of the entertainment industry in the future. you're right though, he can do what he wants and he's done a lot for his loyal fans throughout the years. it just sucks for those who were so excited about seeing the final shows on specific dates and made plans for those dates and now everything is rearranged. certain people will not be able to see the show now due to their travel arrangements, but i don't think we should be bashing them for being upset about it. we all need to remember, it is what it is and it's all said and done. there really should be no more posts in this forum on either aspect. we've already heard every angle about this and we all need to just agree to disagree about certain things. obviously all of us here love NIN and wish the best to each and every one of them, especially trent. stop the arguing and bickering and just let it be.

Exactly. I was able to attend both shows in Chicago, but only because Trent decided to do both shows. I had made plans to go to 2 Cubs games and do other stuff in case something happened (since the ball games were in the day, I made it to both). It's all about making the most of a trip in case of all circumstances.

how can you have a plan B for a show that is scheduled on a specific date? idiot

Uhhh...for this EXACT situation. People get sick, unforeseen circumstances...that's what I'm talking about, idiot. If one is going to "come all this way" to see a show, one should plan for everything.

I'm glad you don't get to go, you sound like a dick and you got what you deserved. Also: Trent lives in L.A., so you are attacking him as much as the rest of the residents. I don't live in L.A., but I'm quite happy they rescheduled just so you don't get to go. Rot in your own misery you piece of shit.

You can go to a Dodger game, go to the beach, see a movie at Grauman's, visit the Getty or any other museum. Experience the city you are in. Make the most of it. Now STFU.

my point is...that's not what i came here for...i came here to see NIN at the wiltern on sept 5. now that is not happening. i spent over $300 on a plane ticket for this reason only. a dodger game, the beach, a movie, or anything else will not equate to one of the final NIN shows. this was a show that was specifically scheduled on a specific date and time. i should not have to think about a plan B when i purchase my tickets.

lucky for me, i am able to reschedule my life and see the final show at the wiltern on the 10th. i'm done. please don't quote anymore of my posts. i win.

I had to highlight this, cause this is probably the douchebag comment of the day. When any band plays a venue in a city, they should not account for people flying in from all over the world. if you noticed, echoplex remains the same. He could have moved echoplex as well, but I would assume he kept it cause that was the original last show, and most people all over the world would try for that first. How much consideration should he have for the entire world?!?

NIN rescheduled, and people who can still go are happy that he didn't cancel the shows all together. Remember, this isn't a strictly negative thread. But to condemn the entire state to the bottom of the pacific? Remember, TR lives there too. Can't make a new album in the ocean. Equipments not waterproof.

Edit - I also want to point out if people are wondering why the twitter account is gone, or why his pm is disabled, look no further than this thread, or the problems with presale thread. And that's just from the people ballsy enough to post their hate in a public forum...

LMAO @ he can't make records from the bottom of the ocean. And yes I agree, little douches always ruin it for everyone. The best part is how people are complaining that they can't go to MULTIPLE shows anymore. BAHAHA cry me a fuckin river. I've seen NIN twice in my LIFE, don't cry that you haven't gotten to see them twice in a WEEK cuz he was sick.

Crying like little girls with skinned knees and shit.

Hey everyone!

Hope all is well! Seems like the NIN world has had a lot of shit happen in the last 10 hours. Well...I left St. Louis this morning at 3am, and am sitting in Albequerque...with my friend.

We are going to the Echoplex...and getting this news kinda sucks...we hoped to see Trent wave goodbye...there is a little disappointment. But thats OK.

Truthfully though, tomorrow when we drive into LA after seeing the Grand Canyon, we are going to put on our steel toed boots, jeans and NIN shirts. Then we are going to get in line and prepare to kick all your bitchy asses.

Trent will read all this shit and he is going to come out swinging and you all better be prepared...none of this bullshit about "refund my money" or "whats my plan B" or "Go fuck yourself."

Wiltern folks get the last farewell, but as a person who was at the two Chicago shows, He is not going to disappoint, and his anger outweighs all of our pussy poser bullshit any day. So stop cutting yourself, put in Broken:Last or DownwardSpiral:I do not want this or Fragile:No you don't...and prepare for the beginning of the end...

Lets do this right and lets send this man into NIN retirement wanting and needing more...

Echoplex + 500 = your ass kicked

For instance, if there is some super nice person who is willing to trade their Echoplex ticket for Wiltern ticket, how would we go about doing that without me having to be at the Wiltern on Thursday to pick up my ticket in person?
