After 12 pages of a combination of get well wishes, bitching and otherwise fun shit. I'm totally intervening to say...

LET'S TALK ABOUT HEALTHCARE REFORM SOME MORE

Here's the thread: http://forum.nin.com/bb/read.php?9,837766

Those of you who can go to the rescheduled shows, and do not have tickets yet - watch this site and get on Twitter and follow @nineinchnails I couldn't get tickets the first time around. I was too busy with work to log on. I got mine by chance. I had a dentist appointment and left early when I got home I saw a tweet about more tickets being available online. I tried the Palladium, then the Echoplex and then the Fonda where I got lucky and got some. I wouldn't have gotten them had I still been at work.

I didn't try for the Wiltern because it's not that small and with the shows being GA I would have had better seats at that huge amphitheater in Phoenix than I would here. I can't leave work before 6pm so I won't be in the front unless I push my way in. I'm hoping for the middle.

For NYC they were having Leo run around the city. They were tweeting where he was and what he was wearing and I guess whomever found him first got tickets. They also tweeted that they were selling tickets at the Palladium box office the morning before. One of my friends got those. Since I already had tickets for the Fonda I didn't bother to come up with an excuse to take a long lunch and take a chance.

The point is keep a look out. Set up text alerts for @nineinchnails on twitter. Join twitter if you haven't yet. There will likely be more tickets on sale and they will likely let us know in creative ways.

Jarrett, healthcare discussions get much more violent than this thread ever will. Some old nut punched another old nut who then bit off the first nut's finger. The second nut then went crying to Fox News. I'd rather have some bitter guy threaten me, my friends and family and Trent with an huge earthquake that I think we will all survive than have any of our fingers bitten off.

Your music has helped me through some of the hardest times in life over the recent years. Although I knew of NIN as a kid I was always swept away from the heaviness of your sound. Thankfully a friend pushed me to listen to your music about five years ago, and I will forever be in debt to him because of that. I actually might be able to fly out and see your final show (moms gift), but if i can't i'll always have the memories of Lollapalooza 08 and every other time you've come to Chicago (except for your shows at the Aragon. I didn't really have money) in the recent years. Thank you for inspiring me to be the best visual artist I can be, and thank you for being the best musician you could become and always be. All in all thank you for everything you've given to us artistically. I'm very grateful to be able to have seen you live. Here's a lame rhyme. Fuck the rest NIN will always be best. So fucking true though.

It's good to see you able to communicate and feeling better. Wish I could see the band again, what I saw wasn't enough but it will have to be. Enjoyed it all. Gary Numan
wow?....so jealous. I read a few articles and good luck on your future endeavors,
I think you'll be good at what you are planning to do. Just a whisper but what I do
when I feel myself getting sick is drink Kefir, dairy and nondairy. It stops the little
buggers in their tracks in your belly before they reach blood stream. You probably already know about Kefir. I know your doctor is really taking good care of you, so it's just a whisper. The members of the band are awesome artist. The word industrial you don't think it can become organic but it can. You did it! I salute you...I'll just look at image post of the final shows in the future happy to see you up and healthy.

Got another question for local La users...what does traffic look like around 4 pm, on say.. a Thursday? I will be driving in from Phoenix, probably taking I-10 into La, will i have enough time to navigate traffic to get to the show on time?? i plan on leaving PHX no later than 11 am. as usual, any info is greatly appreciated and repaid through infinite amounts of positive Karma.

Thanx!!

That's generally Rush-Hour time. If you're coming in from the I-10 you're going to hit traffic once you get into the Downtown area. It's generally a lot of the push-pull effect. Slow for a bit, fast, then slow again - all the way up until the exit.

Best of luck!

I hope that you can recuperate before Sunday and not push yourself to go on stage before you're ready.

I was at the Friday Aragon show, and I've been sick with a bug since Monday and needed to be on the road shooting this week. It sucked and I'm so exhausted. Can't imagine how sick you must be given your grueling schedule.

Yeah, cause flying to LA and getting a hotel was SOOOO much cheaper than paying $100-$150 for a Chicago ticket on ebay. Some geniuses will always be in debt.

Trent, the majority of us understand. We - after all - are human too, so unless these so-called fans griping about situations out of your control are actually cyborgs fortunate enough not to succumb to the illnesses that often plague mortals they have quite the nerve. If they are so angry they should dedicate their lives to finding an eradication plan for all colds and other sicknesses (perhaps some crazy dialysis where our blood is replaced with a serum containing a vaccine for every single infirmity this planet has to offer so that we glow in synthetic health perfection).

Thank you so much for the show at the Palladium. Even sick I don't think I've seen you ever kick so much fucking ass during a performance. Now that is dedication to your fans. Most of us appreciate that kind of insane commitment. Thank you, get well.

On a totally different note - what was the crowd like at the Palladium. I'm waffling between bringing my good camera or just sticking the cheapie in my pocket with my phone etc. Not sure if it makes a difference but I'm female and tiny-ish (under 5'6"winking smiley.

It would depend on where you're planning to be--I don't know any of the venues, but are there seats? Balconies? Or are you going to be in the thick of things in the pit? If the latter, things will definitely get brutal; if the former, probably not. Personally, unless you're Maryelle (who's a glutton for punishment AND a wonderful photographer), I'd leave the really good camera at home--you wouldn't want your excitement over a NIN show dimmed by your camera being fucked up, would you? (Unless, of course, you were planning to offer it up as a sacrifice on the altar of the Church of the Reznorrection... grinning smiley )

You poor bastard... *hugs* Shit happens--take care of yourself, break out the juicer and get as many nutrients into your system as possible, have some more chicken soup, take some garlic capsules, and get plenty of rest; if it's indeed the swine flu that's laid you low, have a chuckle at the universe's sick sense of humor on inflicting such a thing on you and all the pigs. grinning smiley But do take care of yourself, OK? Trust me, you do NOT want pneumonia from this kind of thing! (Been there, done that, coughed up the blood...) Oh, and everyone else w/the NINfluenza: this all applies to you, too.

Now go back to bed, all of you, and feel better soon!

Trent, when I would get colds I'd take a few garlic & vitamin C pills (not those chewy ones that are full of sugar), and get plenty of sleep. That usually did the trick.

Get well soon!

Crowd was pretty sedate @ The Palladium. Saw a wide variety of cameras, etc. I think RobinTMP hit the nail on the head, though. As we were getting in line, I made the choice to leave the camera in the car. Much less headache and turned out to be the right decision. But Palladium was the largest of the venues (me thinks) and compression/sightlines will become more of an issue at Echoplex; less so at Wiltern and Fonda (or so I have been led to believe). In any event, enjoy - the vibe was such that there was an intimacy which embraced... even in the midst of Trent's illness.

Side note to sikntwzd: We drove in from Phoenix last week, leaving at 11ish. The traffic we hit was pretty sporadic from Palm Springs, west, with most of the pressure heading the opposite direction (such was the case for the Palladium show). But it really depends upon which show you are going to and where it is located.Leave as early as you can and be prepared for a lengthy queue. And then have, as Sailor Ripley would say: "A Rockin' Good Time!!"

09/05/09 11:37 AM

I suppose it's bitersweet for the people with the Echoplex tix.
Small venue and the LAST show..........for awhile........I hope.

And for the people that bought tix to the rescheduled show, must be pretty sweet going from 3rd to last to last.

Circle of life.
