Well, now that all my illusions are shattered... I hope you kick this soon, and manage to enjoy the last three shows. Fuck the haters, you know most of us appreciate all you've done for us over the years. I know I do!

I'm sending loads of hippie vibes that you feel better regardless if I get to see a show or not. (=
Look at it this way you've had a career that most musicians dream of, and you are one of the most influential artists of our era.. I personally would part with my left nut to have been you for the past 20 years and be as loved, appreciated, and held near and dear to peoples hearts and musically respected the way you are. DUDE you got the flu and a good portion of the worlds music fans go into a melt down. If I get sick nobody fucking cares. I know you're sick but people would line up to give you blood transfusions and kidney's and shit if you needed them...if you could physically harvest all the good wishes being sent your way you'd be fucking superman, you'd never be sick again.

Yeah people are getting kinda pissy about all this.. and I'm not to happy about it either... I've been in this since I saw you at fucking Helter Skelter in like '90 (maybe'91) dude 20 fucking years ago.. and I kinda want to end it.. it's not you, or your fault but your LAST show means the world to some of us.... AND I STILL DON'T HAVE A TICKET... I know you're probably feeling kinda crappy but come on man, people are practically killing themselves to see YOU one last time.. think about it, that's pretty fucking cool.

why no show on the 9th... 9/9/09 for the last show.... THAT woulda been the shit

09/05/09 9:26 PM

The Hitler reaction video was outstanding- so funny. Feel better soon!

09/05/09 9:29 PM

Yeah apparently music todays standard to replying to messages of NIN tickets is
"Tickets are non-transferable

Thank you,

nin ticketing customer service dept"

they probably just copy and paste that shit..
blah

I bet there's a good few people would chew my arm off for the ticket as well sad smiley sad smiley sad smiley.

Enjoy the last show for me folks, do some cheering for me too.

You are very cool and I hope good things come your way. I wish you were able to go. P.S. Scotland is a beautiful.

Oh sweet irony!

Flew down from Seattle for the Palladium, Wiltern, and Echoplex shows. Luckily, I'm unemployed and my friend and I are staying with a friend of her's, so we decided to double the length of our trip and attend the Wiltern next week. Here's the kicker... now I'M sick! LOL *cough* *cough* *gasp* Unggg... I was near the front of the pit at Palladium so I'm sure I caught it from that human grinder. My shirt was so soaked in mine and other people's sweat that you would have thought I'd dropped it in a sink full of water. Oh well. I'm hoping I'm feel better by tomorrow. I'll be there regardless but I don't want to spread the disease. If you see a guy walking around with a HEPA mask on, then you'll know its me. *sigh* At least Trent has a beautiful and loving woman to look after him. smiling smiley

What a bunch of whiny fucks.

I know it's a frustrating situation for most of you guys, and the ticket thing is not that clear yet, and it's ok to get upset, but blaming Trent for this? Yeah, that's pretty clever, as if he had chosen to get sick. The guy was already feeling like crap, but he still put out 3 amazing shows. We all know he doesn't cancel a show without a very good reason, and if this time he canceled and rescheduled the last shows it's because it's the best he can do, for himself and for YOU.

If I were him, after all this shit, I'd just say FUCK OFF and would cancel the tour, leaving last Wednesday's show at the Palladium as the last concert of the tour, and everyone who bought tickets would get their money back.

Show some respect for the guy and use your brains from time to time, it doesn't hurt.

I hope you're feeling better, Trent. And I know these final shows will be amazing for you & all who get to see them. You know you'll make this true.

09/06/09 12:33 AM

I, like many, am really bummed that the shows have been switched around, but...shit happens. I plan to make the most of the echo show and when I get home, I'll live vicariously through my friends that could stay. Fortunately for fans that can rearrange their schedules (or live in LA), I'm sure plenty of tickets will materialize as a result of our refunds. MT seems to be on top of it; I've already been refunded.

Just hoping, at this point to get some merch and say my goodbyes to some good tour friends tomorrow.
See you there!

Those of you who can go to the rescheduled shows, and do not have tickets yet - watch this site and get on Twitter and follow @nineinchnails I couldn't get tickets the first time around. I was too busy with work to log on. I got mine by chance. I had a dentist appointment and left early when I got home I saw a tweet about more tickets being available online. I tried the Palladium, then the Echoplex and then the Fonda where I got lucky and got some. I wouldn't have gotten them had I still been at work.

I didn't try for the Wiltern because it's not that small and with the shows being GA I would have had better seats at that huge amphitheater in Phoenix than I would here. I can't leave work before 6pm so I won't be in the front unless I push my way in. I'm hoping for the middle.

For NYC they were having Leo run around the city. They were tweeting where he was and what he was wearing and I guess whomever found him first got tickets. They also tweeted that they were selling tickets at the Palladium box office the morning before. One of my friends got those. Since I already had tickets for the Fonda I didn't bother to come up with an excuse to take a long lunch and take a chance.

The point is keep a look out. Set up text alerts for @nineinchnails on twitter. Join twitter if you haven't yet. There will likely be more tickets on sale and they will likely let us know in creative ways.

Thanks for the valuable information! I don't have a twitter acct, so how does it work with texts? My phone is without internet =/

When you sign up for Twitter online, there is an option to set up your cellphone for text alerts. I have a Blackberry with a Twitter application so I only have it set up for direct messages but once you set add people you are following you have the option to have texts of their tweets sent to you. You can add all your friends (which gets really annoying) or just some people.

I just made my account and I'm currently following about 15 others. If I sent text alerts to my phone, does that mean I'll receive text tweets from everyone? Or can I specifically send ones from NIN? I tried to look for these questions on the Twitter help page, but couldn't find any answers.

Go to the list of people you follow, click on each on and make sure you have "updates off" for people whose updates you don't want to get on text and make sure you have "updates on" for NIN.

The Twitter help page is useless. I think that is why most people use desktop apps on their computers but unfortunately you have to do your settings on the web page.

09/06/09 1:32 AM

I have an extra FONDA ticket that I would LOVE to trade for your extra WILTERN ticket.

Any takers?

Thanks and glad you're feeling better Trent. Can't wait!!!

LET'S TALK ABOUT HEALTHCARE REFORM SOME MORE

Here's the thread: http://forum.nin.com/bb/read.php?9,837766

Jarrett, healthcare discussions get much more violent than this thread ever will. Some old nut punched another old nut who then bit off the first nut's finger. The second nut then went crying to Fox News. I'd rather have some bitter guy threaten me, my friends and family and Trent with an huge earthquake that I think we will all survive than have any of our fingers bitten off.

That's a really weird analogy about the fingers, and we all assume Fox News leans to the right mostly, but democrats have their own partisan channel known as MSNBC and they might only play neutrality off to a complete idiot, so there we find political bias yet again. I swear, it's like trying to find the lesser evil.

Oh, I hate MSNBC just as much with one difference (which may be a mistake): I just can't take it seriously. The first time I saw Rachel Maddow I thought it was a comedy skit. I didn't see where you are from and have no clue how old you are, so you may already know this but Keith Olbermann was a local sports guy in LA when I was in HS. Now he's a "respected" political pundit? Sorry! NO! Ditto for O'Reilly. He was on A Current Affair which was like TMZ before the internet. Again, NO!

The nuts are out in force on both sides on this issue and frankly it's scaring me. The nut who bit off the finger had to be a liberal. I stick to CNN, ABC and CBS at least they make an effort to hide their biases. Real NBC seems like its still OK but I'm not sure because of MSNBC.

09/06/09 1:52 AM

Its is awesome that there is able to be a reschedule for all of us that are able to go. I find myself very lucky and thankful.
Sickness sucks. And money is a bitch.
But you have no idea the happiness that is brought by just being able to see these shows.
I can not wait till tuesday.
Thank you Trent. And keep well.

MSNBC and Fox News are like two poisons made to cancel each other out, but they still debate who's acting as the poison and who is acting as the anti-venom.

I didn't really know that about Keith Olbermann, but I've watched an episode or two and seen his "still Bushed" skit and really too much infotainment involved on both channels to know what the real information is.

Being sick is a waste of time, I hate it!!!! Mr. Reznor sir, personally I think you spoil your American fans. They seem to me to be whiney little children (maybe not all of them), you do far too much for them. Maybe you should think of No. 1 more often? smiling smiley

First of all, Trent, if you read this: hope you're feeling better. After such a long tour you had to be exhausted, what is abnormal is the fact that none of you guys had fallen sick earlier! Probably when you got home your body thought it was time to surrender =)
These three final shows will certainly be even more special now. You guys have struggled to keep going with these shows, some fans to attend, and I am certain that the reward will be 1000 times sweeter now. You people attending the shows have the resposibility of helping make these shows awe, we need TR to be left with a nice taste in mouth about touring so he could eventually do it again!! =)

Have a great time tonight chaps and chapeses!

After reading I wonder, I wonder and I have to ask:

how can any of you: any of you who calls yourself a major fan let some minor thing like this stop or dissapoint you. ?

If that passion was worth so much that: distance, money and time didnt matter.
why cant you make it meaningless one last time ?

Why cant you find another way back home, throw away a job, find a solution for just one day of your life in which you get to see the last moments of something so meaningful for you ?

Why will this nuissance stop you from living something you believe so important ?

If something this small can prevent you from being happy and reaching something so meaningful... I just wonder, where are you going ? and what can´t stop you... ?

Well said. I agree. I wouldn't be anywhere else in the world right now. I canceled my flight home. NIN is my greatest passion. However, for some people it just isn't possible, I get that, but the bitching is misdirected. But for me, I had to be part of the end. There is no way, nothing would stop from saying good bye to what matters so deeply to me. I've been there from the very beginning. So I must be here for the end. It's destiny

THANK YOU TRENT!!!!

09/06/09 12:35 PM

SO ... ROCK STARS aren't allowed to get sick? Does Trent seem like such a god that we forget he's human? He's been on tour so much the last few years (for us fans) his head is probably still in the bus! Cut him some slack, dear nin fans!

Personally, I can't even make it to these special goodbye shows. I met him and hung backstage at the Fiddler's show in CO, and that will have to be good enough for me. Besides, have any of you heard . . . Year Zero may become a HBO TV show/mini-series/short film. And a little bird said that if that does happen, well then there would just have to be a Year Zero II, possibly leading to a Year Zero tour.

Trent is way too creative to ever quit anything he loves. He will never be "done." (Thank god!)

Trent: I hope you feel better- health is so important to life. I hope your hot fiancé' is doing well. Hang in there and may you have amazing and powerful CA Goodbye shows!

When I found out Trent was calling it quits, I flew from Vancouver BC, to London, UK to catch them one last time.

Then when I found out they were doing one last tour in the states, I flew down to Vegas and drove to Los Angeles for the first two L.A. shows.
It was disappointing seeing the Palladium show come to such an abrupt end, and then finding out the Henry Fonda show was postponed, but knowing Trent's dedication, he would never let anything like this happen if it wasn't very serious.

I'm breaking the bank and flying back to LA from Vancouver one more time to catch this Henry Fonda show. There is no way I'd EVER let myself miss it.

Thank you Trent, I hope you're feeling better for your show tonight!
