I have to admit I resisted watching this, one reason because there's a kind of code for me (for me, not anyone else) to be repulsed in thinking anything involving Hitler could ever be funny, my mom being a Holocaust survivor, etc ... but ... it is priceless. My partner mentioned how really talented some NIN fans are ... no surprise there, right?
Back home in stormy rainy cold Seattle, and I'm so glad. I had a long confession composed that I won't post now (redundant), but suffice to say I still had a great time on my vacation even without the main event, got to do my beach thing (last time I was a sophomore at Newbury Park HS) at Santa Monica, had a great vegan meal at a place called Buddha's Belly (delicious tofu steak, I died a bit with every bite), bought silly stuff at American Apparel (they do make clothes for tall women, and I didn't have to buy oversized just for length -- awesome!), and, highlight of it all, riding the elevator in the Bradbury bldg (will hopefully make sense for other Bladerunner geeks). The building itself is beautiful inside (outside, rather ordinary, apparently by design), and the elevator ride topped the bill. Thanks to Grace, the security guard, who shared that she found the movie a bit slow ...
My love to all NIN fans going to the show and not, to Trent and Co, to the future and to the present. Break a leg, guys (and Jen, have a GREAT time. See, my sadness and unreasonable jealousy, like Hitler's (ugh), is abating).
I get to sleep in my own bed tonight! Cheers --
