I posted this in the other thread. It's a BIG wishlist, but...here it is:

1. Multitrack files for every song
2. b-sides and demos
3. Trent's written retrospective on the making of The Fragile
4. A DVD containing Trent and others performing all of the songs on the album.

This would make me complete.

YES!!! THAT.

I kind of agree with this, as it is impossible to listen to with any other noise in the background and actually hear the piano bits without the rest of it blasting your ears off

I can't imagine an ultimate edition 5.1 Blu-ray would have anything other than massive amounts of dynamics, ZERO drc used, zero clipping and zero brickwalling/limiting.

If it's coming from AiR, it should be spot fucking on.

if they compressed the record any more, it would sound even worse. the dynamic range on TF is mega-huge compared to later records (see Year Zero).

We're not discussing The Fragile anymore, we're talking about Theme From Tetsuo Bullet Man. Which has *too much* dynamic range.

08/03/10 11:21 AM

Except Bullet Man is riddled with awesome.

Hmm, I always thought it sounded great. I was kind of hoping they wouldn't screw around too much with the mix.

i was wondering about that, actually, since that's all you ever seem to post about the Tetsuo theme. winking smiley it's really a non-issue; that track is as dynamic as "The Mark Has Been Made" or "We're in This Together," but because the piano is muffled when it comes in the first time, the piece suddenly has poorly-done dynamics. they're called headphones! use them! it's an extremely effective dynamic shift, much like the mandolin shimmers before all hell breaks loose in the middle of "The Day the World Went Away."

08/03/10 8:40 PM

Exactly. Just because the dynamics are extreme doesn't mean they're bad. That sudden jolt after the first piano section gets me everytine, I love it.

hehe, now having looked through recent posts i know what you will require next - in addition to 5.1, demos, rehearsals and commentary by reznor - a hi-fi headset?

by the look of the HTDA methodology so far, we can probably expect 2 or 3 limited edition Fragile t-shirts tongue sticking out smiley

The ultimate reissue of The Fragile was announced via Twitter September 2009. It is now August 2010. A few more months of silence and I'd say we can put this on the list with the Closure DVD and the Tapeworm project.

08/08/10 1:49 PM

^^Pretty negative for your first post :/ I hope you're wrong!

08/08/10 2:14 PM

i don't mind when this comes out as long as it's got some rad new artwork from david carson. his artwork for the fragile inspired the hell out of me when it first hit the internet in '99. what an unprecedented collision of styles. rocked my world.

08/09/10 6:03 AM

Would be nice if it gets a similar treatment as Ghosts, several different kits. My dream kit would be:
-Hard casing
-The Fragile remastered tracks on cd, bluray, and multi tracks
-DVD containing Fragility tour footage
-Booklet containing tour photos, artwork, etc. As well as short history of the making of The Fragile

I considered limited edition numbering, but that narrows how many people can own it, and a big jump in price range.

You guys know this has been postponed for awhile right?

so you're half-predicting it won't be released officially but the prototype will be leaked on the internet and downloadable for free?

Rob said when asked about it: "@PMartinez527 It got pushed back for a variety of reasons. It's still happening, but it's a ways away."

It was a few months ago on twitter so it's kind of a huge pain in the ass to locate.

Edit: Looks as if the tweet was deleted. No idea why.

Since Bob Ezrin made the below comment in the ETS forum about the making of The Fragile - what I would like in the reissue is some sort of documentary about the recording of it!

@rob_sheridan I know! You must have had over hundreds of minidv tapes?! Did you also do the visuals for that tour on the screens?

@rob_sheridan well they blow my mind!!! How many GB of footage did you have? and how did you break the editing down? 3:25 AM Aug 16th via TweetDeck Canton, MI

rob_sheridan posted:
@RITCNIN I don't remember how many GB. At the time the biggest drives we could get were 60gb, and we had over 20 of them chained together. 3:27 AM Aug 16th via TweetDeck

@RITCNIN We synced every video we had from each song as best we could, then just took it song by song. 40+ angles to choose from sometimes. 3:28 AM Aug 16th via TweetDeck

Ok, so they have unreleased stuff from AATCHB, so maybe they could use it on the reissue. For instance, they could add live videos for even deeper, the fragile, get down make love and so on(just checked the fragility setlists).

i found the unreleased album of tapeworm, i'm not kidding.

Yeah except then I can't hear the fucking piano which is way too quiet. Way to go, geniusman.

Or just stop being such a baby about it. I was just listening to that song with headphones at full blast, never had to adjust the volume once. Those unexpected loud parts are supposed to be shocking and to catch you off guard. It's part of the madness involving the entire Tetsuo theme. Then again, you didn't get Tetsuo: The Iron Man, so maybe it's just not for you.

if you don't like how it sounds then just don't listen, nobody forces you to
